Very little modification is on the original sleeve. You can very well get the Novarossi NS or NSR piston sleeve set for replacement. Perfect fit.

IN HK, the MAX P/S and conrod set cost US$182...... that's almost cost of a new NS5 engine

I have a question here regarding the Novamax MAX3 engine. I understand that it is built on the base of the NSR12S3 motor, but how different is the output and reliability?

Thanks,

john

Thanks for the info, I did originally get the engine in Hong Kong, but the shop I bough it from doesn't have the p/l sets ....

Do you know where in Hong Kong, which shop have them at the moment?

Has anybody rebuild a 3 port with a 5 port p/l, I have a good idea that this will work, just wondering if anybody has actually done it yet? and the resulting performance?

Regards,
Neo

Hi John,
I think this question has been answered in previous posts to this tread (might be worth a look) Both the performance and reliability are increased, how much?, Well how long is a piece of string...

Neo,

The answer is like a riddle in the matrix . It is hidden somewhere in the thread. What I am looking for is dyno figures and approx hp ratings.

I know that the Max will be better, but my question is by how much. I guess one would have to have experience (1st or seconhand) with this.

Lets say that the NSR12S3 put out 1.5, what do you think the Max produces? Is the torque greatly increased? Answers more along these lines.

thanks,

john

Try WIng Jet or HArmony in Kowloon.
They both have a good relationship with World Model (current MAX dist, for Asia Market)
The number is # MAX-08655MF Mod complete P/S/ROD
this is for 3port

You're right about the NS/NSR piston sleeve set being a perfect fit, but I can't say I agree with the very little modification part.
On the older P3 models there wasn't much modification on the sleeve, but look at the S3 I took apart to inspect.
Some very nice work done on the sleeve. It was also done before the chrome as you can see it in the ports.

Thanks for the nice pics. I read somewhere that the 3 port NSR engines spot the same design on the sleeves. Something like what is done on the IDM sleeve. So NovaMax being taken from the same original source (Novarossi), I would expect them to have similar sleeve cuttings. See the link below;
