i have both, i started our last season in florida with the 353 and switched the end of year to the 12pt. for me both made 5 min. to me the 12pt has more bottom and midrange than the 353. On the tracks that i ran the 12pt i ran faster and more consistant lap times than with the 353. i have run almost 2 gal thru and no problems. I do not know anybody who had problems with the 12pt.

If I remember correctly, I was looking at the parts list for both the Flash .12 (not PT) and the Flash .12 PT, and they both had the same crankcase, crankshaft and P/S set.
The 353 and Flash .12 had different cranks which led me to believe they had different timings, but seeing that the newer PT version has the same parts as the previous model just makes me think the Flash series really just got a lightening and newer look to it! Im really sure it was the Flash engines I was looking at, if not, then just ignore this slab of text :D |

I can not tell, all I know is that NR is continous changing timings but for some small changes it can be just some tolerances. From what I have seen with other models is that the cranktiming is changed in the crankcase while all the parts in the manual are the same. It is hard to tell.....

According to the exploded views of the Flash 12-3 Tuned and Flash 12-PT, the 12-3 Tuned P/S set is 08627/10 and the 12-PT is 08627/11 (only ONE number!!), so perhaps there is a slight change in port shape or timing making them different, and the cranks are different to each other according to the part numbers.
Maybe it was the RB Touring .12 engines I was comparing that had the same cranks and P/S sets, pretty sure that's what I was referring to in my previous post :sweat: |
12pt's exhaust timing and shape are different - higher, crank duration is (a bit) less, less silicone filling than before, and it's balanced and thus obviously heavier. no coating in the piston. same dome/piston than the older engines

35+21 Pipe/Manifold Combi
Hi,
Recently purchased and run-in a 35+21 (steel bearings). Currently matching it with nova 2015 + 6-fin manifold. Power is decent at best, but run time is approximately only 4 minutes. Does anyone have any recommendation for pipe/manifold combination for a large track that offers decent run time (say approximately 4:45?) Thank you in advance. Sam |
If you can run the 2013 Sirio pipe it is possible to get 5:30 on a tank.
