Nova pistons

Hi there,

the hype about a CNC piston for the 2010 Flash is confusing to me. Since I am in the on-road hobby Novarossi is changing back and forth between piston manufacturing processes. I don't see that on or the other is clear winner.
Any one has some thoughts or insight regarding this?

Thanks a lot and best regards, Stefan

Getting back into nitro after a few years and wanted to know what the consensus is on the O'Donnell turbo plugs and fuel? I'll be running these in an NS12S3 and RX21R1WC.

(don't laugh, they're brand new!) :p

353 are only available in stock versions either with Ceramic or regular bearing, while the Flash 12 3 comes in factory modified only.
So for 2010, the Flash 12 3 is now the Flagship engine for the .12, while the 353 is their secondary engine line.

The fuel is excellent, probably my second favorite after Maxy. I have never tried the plugs but I hear they are good. I like Sirio plugs for Nova motors. And that R1 is nothing to laugh at. Still one of the best .21's out there.

How to break in again after p/s/r replacement ?

How do you do heat cycle ? Does it save fuel and time in the process?

There is not much diffrence between the flash 12 and the 353 09 lookin at the exploded view. Its hard to tell unless you look at the parts side by side. but most of the parts have the same part number.

The crankshaft, rod and piston are the same as the 353 09

Do you know tje difference if you have the 2 pistons in your hand?
I do not believe so.....
Finally both pistons are CNC made because there is no way you can get a piston out of a mold in a perfectly fitting shape.
But all is about the material, microcasted will give a stronger material but the Flash did had some bad pistons last year so in a commercial story they tell you they changed materials. Let me tell you if you are depending on different suppliers then there is always a change in materials and you will only notice is in the way how the pinch feels and how fast it is runned in.
