I toook ou the plug , tried to turnt he fly wheel with pliers, put some after run oil in the piston cylinder. Nothing seems to work the thing is too tight. Does anyone have any suggestions???????

Greg

New engine should be tight at TDC not all around. You say you got it last year, maybe it's "glued" together with old dried-out oil. Try heating it with hair drier and WD-40

I had the same problem...but Mugen is now the US Importer for Nova Rossi, so I'd try with them...

You need Nova Rossi part no: 18601 or you might try Serpent part No.: MEG 2161..

I finally got one from the kind folks at Serpent.:D

You say Serpent has that nut I'm looking for? It the right size....big!

JP RRL5

After about a 1/2 gallon of fuel through my motor I can say I'm pretty happy with it. The motor has tons of bottom end and more than enough top end with my gearing. However, there seems to be a slight stall between 1st and 2nd which is probably due to a higher than optimal 2nd gear for my track. I'm running an R40. I had a NS3 in my car previously but had headaches with that motor. It kept getting too hot and just consumed so much more fuel. With my RRL5, it uses considerably less fuel.....I can go over 6 minutes with temps in the 250-260 deg F range. The best part is that the bottom end on my car is still very rich. My car still sounds like a four stroke at idle. I've noticed that my top end is getting higher and higher as I go through more fuel. Does anybody know where I can get a piston/sleeve/conrod in the 3 port configuration.

Nova rs12 s5

Hiya

I am running in a new rs12 s5 and wondered what the ideal head shim clearance is, I am using 25% nitro and an ofna outlaw pipe.

I have run 6 tanks through the engine at rich setting with the original silver shim in, but before I go any more just need to know if I need to add an extra shim for 25% fuel.

thx........rich

NOVAROSSI NSR12N5 factory carb setting

Hello, can anybody tell me the original factory setting of the carb for the NOVAROSSI NSR12N5 (i think this is one of the latest Nova engines)? I need the low, mid and high needle settings please. Can you also detail a bit the setting steps. Thanks.

I kinda got carried away with cleaning the engine and i forgot to keep track of the settings, hehe! Thanks so much in advance for any info!

I saw this in the trinity website, will this be applicable for my NSR12N5 as starting set-up??

Novarossi NS12XX or RS12XXXX (General Carb Settings)
Low Speed: 3.25 turns out
High Speed: 4 turns out
Mid-Range: Flush with the carb body

Old NovaMega engine question

OK, I just bought my first Nova base engine. It looks like a NovaMega SX12 SE, but no telling if it's an Evo1 or Evo2 (the box or manual didn't come with it). For various reasons, I had to keep a side exhaust motor. Is there anything I need to be aware of with this engine? What temp ranges should I be looking for? And how do you tune the engine since it has two screws on the LSN? I'm used to dealing with OS carbs, so that puzzles me. I may send it out to get modded for a little more punch, especially since I'm not sure what the power rating or power band of this engine is.
