Can somebody tell me what the performance difference will be for a .21 engine with and without the silencer? I dont have enough room to fit a silencer on my project and noise will not be a problem

Cheers

Running without an exhaust system will make the engine run louder and hurt performance drastically.

running any engine with out some kind of chamber will damage your engine. If your making a one off prodject car id strongly think about making a custom system for it with some kind of expantion chamber. These engines need the pipe chamber to matain back prushure and they also act like a fuel pump by preshureizing the fuel tank.

Damage your engine?? How could that be? All the expasion chamber does is produce a positive and negative wave cycle to compress the bypass fuel back into the cylinder than help in evacuating the exhaust fumes

If this is missing then all that happens is you might get blow by of fuel, which can be compensated by running rich.

The only thing I would expect is that the engine will produce a slightly less power and peak at a lower RPM and use slightly more fuel.

Lamberto Collari Conrod

I recently purchased the LC 35 plus 21 and i have heard people say that you should replace the conrod after the first gallon. is the conrod the same in the LC as it is in the standard 35 plus 21

the conrod lasts longer than 1 gallon..........

it's different than the 35 plus 21, the conrod is called C1, the pin diameter is smaller than the R7 which comes with the 35 plus 21.

I have a stock out of the box 35+21 and kained it from the first start. I only needed to change the rod at 15ltrs that nilly 4us gallons. But like the person befor me The collari 35+21 uses a difrent rod weather its just renamed or not. I would say change it as soon as you see play but rember when a conrod gets play thats when they ware the crank pin and thats more expencive to replace than a conrod. My engine has 2 rod piston pin and bearing changes and over 30ltrs of running time on it thats about 7us gallons. and its better than some engines ive seen with less than half the run time. Most of the ware factor is in the tune and fuel. The right combo will make an engine last and last. Regards Jeremy.

Of the pipes you mentioned the Skyline VR12+ is the best option, but I would still recommend a Novarossi pipe.
