that much shims for 16%?

Sounds a little weird but it is true. A lot of people have tuning problem and glow plug failures (on Picco engines) because the thickness of shims is not correct.

Therefore, if cannot find a correct setting on carburetor and plugs, think about the shims and it does help.

Actually 0.3mm head shim thickness is Novarossi standard.

same problem here. manifold holes are easily ripped, especially with a hotter engine like JL. I will use mugen 2501 manifolt, or nova 5fin manifolt on mine.

That VR12 is a good pipe but the header material is to soft and wears out over time. Its a common problem. I've gone thru 3 headers, each with extra holes drilled on each side. Now I have three pipes, one header. I think nova has one that is compatible with the VR12.

yeah there has been holes drilled in it before but dont know how many more it can take  iv been readin a few treads here and a lot of ppl seem to use the vr12 seems to be a good pipe but as you said the springs seem to go tru the metal like a hot knife tru butter which seems to be the only down side to them and 20 smoke left a link furter up the thread to a pipe and header which i might invest in down the line :D

thanks blee for explaining the shims :)

You guys should give the PICCO 2607 pipe set a try, it will surely wake up the engine.
