Werks B7 Pro

Has anyone tried one these beasts yet? How are they on power? Faster than the regular B7? Smoother? Better fuel economy? What's the skinny? there must be someone out there who's already tried it!

Speed Metal, we just started shipping these on Monday so most shops have probably only gotten them in the last couple of days. So if anyone has seen them it would have been in the hands of some of our sponsored drivers when we were developing them over the last 6 months or so. Guys like Kortz, Wheeler, Gosch, Korn etc. Plus it's a buggy motor and this is more of an on-road focused forum. Give the S Grid a shot. In a nutshell though it has more power over the entire range than the old B7 and actually gets better fuel economy. It's a from the ground up new design. Long stroke motor, new porting, new crank that has been lightened, epoxy ramped and tungsten slugged. New carb, new turbo head button etc. etc. etc.

speed metal 04-06-2007 05:50 PM

Thanks werks! (Ron?) More power and better fuel economy than th e B7?!?! That's a heck of an accomplishment as the B7 IME is one of the most potent buggy engines out of the box.

I tried getting on S-Grid but for some reason I can't log on.

Any chancew of a new spec B3? Let's not forget that bang for the buck champ! I got one here that's awesome! I love the Werks engines. You can be I'm gonna get me one of those B7 Pros!

Speed Meta, we have a little somethig in the works for the B3 also ;-)

As far as the B Pro is concened though it is definately a more potent package thatn the existing B7 which I think is already comparable to any engine out there. The new B7 Pro though will give you the same bang as say teh $500+ OS Speed engines at a $200+ savings lol! As I said more bottom end, more mid range and more top plus beter fuel economy to boot! Frankly it's a monster for off road! Interestingly enough we are also getting ready to go back to our roots and release some on-road engines too ;-) So 1/8th and 1/10th on-road get ready because we are coming!!!!

Sirio2127 04-08-2007 03:06 AM

Werks, are they still a sirio based line of engines?? and dose Werks have plan's to brake into the on-road engine market??. Best Regards Jeremy.

Awesome! The B3 is really good stock but with some minor port work (especially the exhaust) and the B7 crank it turns into a monster! I can't wait to see what you've got in store for the B3 because I'm super impressed with what you've done with the B7 Pro!

Just got my new B7PRO, however no info as to what plug to run, none included and no booklet. Anyone know what works>> thanks

crc57 04-15-2007 12:30 PM

Anyone have an idea which plug will work well in my new B7 Pro??
thanks

freefallmarine 04-15-2007 01:29 PM

I use the O'donnell 99

crc57 04-15-2007 03:01 PM

I thought this engine used turbo plugs?

Werks 04-17-2007 07:39 PM

crc57, go with the O'Donnell OD97T or #6 or #7 from any of the Italians. Head is shimmed out of the box for 30%.

crc57 04-19-2007 02:53 PM

Thanks Werks,
Got yout e-mail the other day also.

Nitro$junkie 05-13-2007 02:45 AM

any one got any more update's on this engine ?
also has any one tried the B3 PRO for $210 usd it's very well priced has it got the same mods as the B7 PRO ie lightened and ramped with an epoxy filler. The face of the crank of course is fluted and has been balanced with a tungsten insert

UNSTABLE 05-17-2007 01:06 AM

Looks like I will get the B3 pro. Has anyone got any detailed info on them or feedback on how they run?
I assume the 2013 pipe would be the pick for this motor too?
What header would be the best match?

My team boss has the B7 pro, very impressive engine, ultra smooth and good power all through the rev range. :)

Nitro$junkie 05-17-2007 01:42 AM

cool let us know how you find it
im thinking about the B3 Pro also at the price they are going for you be mad not too

You'll have to change your avatar pic :sneaky:

I'll be running a B3 in a couple of weeks until the Pro arrives, will be cool to compare them back to back.

Nitro$junkie 05-17-2007 03:54 AM

good idea! im not to happy with my Novarossi at the moment don't get me wrong their onroad engines are flawless (never had an issue with them) but since the troubles ive had with me 21+7BT im not to fond of there offroad engines and im not the only one at my track either so ive got a Ninja BO1A in the mail now but im keen as mustard to try out the new Werk's engines. Their B7 Pro has all the goodies Hard Black coated Block, balanced crank with a tungsten insert& lightened and ramped with an epoxy filler, Turbo glow plug, lightened, low CG head design

Davidka 05-21-2007 05:22 PM

That will be the new "bang for the buck" champion. I am still running the original gold head B7 and love it.

Nitro$junkie 05-21-2007 06:57 PM

top stuff unstable
davidka you are so right with this being the next bag for buck engine

speed metal 06-05-2007 04:28 PM

I finally got a B7 Pro for myself! But I can't find any break-in instructions. Should I just heat cycle it? Cyrul Method? Same method as the previous B7?

This thread is coming along nicely! I'll let ya know how I like the engine.

speed metal

Davidka 06-05-2007 08:09 PM

I have had great luck with a variation of the heat cycle method. I do it for 4-6 minutes at a time. I pre-heat the engine with a heat gun (very important) and I wrap the head in foil. This way I can hold 200-220f at idle and a slightly rich setting to make sure lots of oil is passing through the engine. After 4 cycles like this I start running it very lightly on pavement for a couple more cycles. It is very easy on the engine and makes for a good, tight piston/sleeve fit. The heat gun and the foil are what makes the difference.

WOW thats all i can say Fing WOW:eek::eek::eek: ive been running the B7PRO for a few weeks now:nod::nod::nod:, and the Vspecs cant even think about keeping up:deathstar:deathstar:deathstar...I have not had the pleasure of running against a speed yet, but i dont think they will have any thing for me:sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:....

UNSTABLE 07-01-2007 11:33 PM

Yep, they are a beast alright.
A couple of my team-mates have them. Every time I drive them I come in after a couple of laps to check the temp 'cause they feel like they are running very lean, the temp is about 85-90*, not even warmed up:lol::lol:
They are just brutally fast in the top end, but liquid smooth in the lower ranges too.

Jason Halvorson 07-02-2007 08:38 PM

are modded versions of the B7PRO (like the hot mods) better than the stock B7PRO???

pitdog 07-11-2007 01:58 AM

i just herd the sirio company folded does this mean werks will have trouble in the future to

Another time the same BS? Is a troll lie that Star Motor company is closing their doors (and still repeats, repeats, repeats, repeats...). On this forum there is very knowledgeable people who know about the Andrea Rossi factory and none gave a word about that.

In fact, they're launching new engines and for the looks and the performance showed some pre-production units, should be killer. Simply close your ears to those comments. If anyone tells you that, simply discard what he told.

pitdog 07-11-2007 05:01 AM

thanks mate i really wanted to get the werks b7 pro didnt want to here about any trouble with back up service , now you cleared that up for me it`s of to a main

pitdog 07-14-2007 05:12 PM

i ordered the b7 pro from AMAIN and exspect it next week can anyone tell me what the top and bottom screws are from closed for a slightly rich setting when i run it in on the heat cycle method, do they like the rossi range of plugs and is the rossi 2015 pipe a match for it thx in advance

Jason Halvorson 07-14-2007 07:32 PM

i like to run the OS P8 cold plug in my B7 PRO, and for pipe i would run either a werks 2013 or a second choice of a Jammin JP3....

pitdog 07-15-2007 03:24 AM

how does it compare to the others, fuel, power, tune and what are your screws at from closed thx jason

Jason Halvorson 07-15-2007 08:26 AM

i run byrons 30% and have no problems running down vspecs on the straight, as for my needles i have no idea...i dont feel the need to keep track of those things as long as the engine is running well and im getting good run time (about 8min. per/tank)....

pitdog 07-16-2007 01:31 AM

no worrys thanks mate

pitdog 07-31-2007 01:26 PM

i rate this motor on par with my nova plus21-7bt for torque but with a lineal power band like the ninja,im using a c6tc nova plug and hot buttered 444 feul with the nova 2015 pipe and very happy with the motor so far(broke it in with the heat cycle method no problem)i would recomend this motor very good value for the money

pitdog 08-06-2007 02:28 AM

does anyone have a race tune needle setting for top and bottom from closed i need a referance to work off, this motor is taking for ever to come off it`s metal pinch(cant wait to see it release into it`s full potential, should be fully sick mate)

lethalleigh29 01-22-2008 05:49 AM

This would have to be one of the most potent engine that i have ever owned i sent it off the massive mods to see what power could be released from this powerhouse and all i can say is WOW,

So smooth on par with my ninja with has it on punch from the line but the werks motor just eats everything else that any motor can dish out i am running a losi eight buggy and can just roll on the throttle and im off like a rocket

What a motor what will they release next

has anyone tried the 28 version.

pitdog 01-22-2008 11:57 PM

wow a modded werks b7 pro sounds a little to quick for me,that would fun to watch but sounds fully sick mate;)

lethalleigh29 01-24-2008 03:31 AM

has enyone found what plug works best for this engine i am currently run an OS P3 plug

what are all your recommendations:confused:
