Default did i get an ok engine?

ok well i'm a noob;
i had a sudden fancy of building a nitro/petrol car, and so went on all the main manufacturers websites and then dealers websites and came up with some prices. hideously expensive. so i had another strange fancy of building one out of parts, so i went on ebay and bought a kyosho .12ci engine inc exhaust, brand new, for £45 ish. did i make a good decision?

thanks,
joe

usually (but not all of the time) car maufactures don't make good motors. Get a motor from a dedicated manufacture, and don't be cheap. If you are just bashing around any motor that moves your car should be fine.

That and you need to know what chassis its going to go on otherwise you just got a motor that might only fit a few certain chassis. Gotta research first. Gotta get a chassis first , then mate a motor to that chassis. Now youll have to mate a chassis to your motor and that kinda limits you if you didnt get the right setup your going for.

Sell it back to ebay or ask the seller if he would be kind enough to take back item.

It has built in mounts that won't match up to the HPI chassis. Sell it.
