do you have to change the con rods often like in the picco megas? do these take the same plus as the mega/piccos? thanks

ive been skeptical of this engine because I have heard so many issues with previous picco based engines but from what Ive seen and experience from pitting for expert drivers to intermediate drivers. This motor is solid in performance and more importantly consistent and user friendly. This is the hot motor in Socal at least.

thanks nigel. the motor was outstanding for its firts run. 4 break-in tanks and on the track it went. it has awsome rip to high rpms.no overheating problems at all. i loved seeing that blue trail of smoke. thanks team kamikaze for this awsome motor!!

Did anybody have any problems with the screw heads not sitting flush on the engine mounting ears?

The big transfer port bulges on the case stick out quite a bit creating some clearance problems.

I tried button head screws but theyre the same diameter as the cap heads.

I reluctantly used my Dremel to grind the case a bit to fit the screw heads. Theres quite a bit of material in that area so no harm done(I hope).

Hey all, just ordered one of these motors today, wondering if anyone has any input on what plug works best in these, or a good starting point? i am also wondering which silicon gasket you wouls use between the motor and pipie, for the Skyline pipe, the non picco size, # 51997, or the "picco" one? Thanks!

I think there is a special gasket for the picco motors which is smooth on the inside. I know that you can use regular gaskets if you have to, but the picco gaskets last a lot longer.
