While trying to pull out the carb, i forgot a piece of the pinch bolt and broke the plastic pins holding the metal sleeve of the carb neck.

I cleaned the carb and the sleeve, spread some jb weld on the inside of the metal sleeve and put it on the plastic carb neck. I also filled the two small holes which were previously occupied with the plastic pins with jb weld. The bond seems strong...

I just got another carb, I'll use the messed up one as back up or parts if anything happens to this one. I seem to be surrounded by very generous local racers here in ATL.

I know this might be covered already, but what should the head clearance be for 16% nitro, i measured using the soldier technique and got .30mm, is this fine for 16% nitro?

thanks

pretty much, or cut a hole. i would leave it just to give a touch of protection.

or put some tape or some of that body strengthener on that spot. my buddy uses something on the front on of his car to keep it front ripping.

If I were you, I would leave it the way it is, it is not really going to hurt anything major.

I just bought my first Picco JL tuned version Red Dot. Ive heard lots of bad things about Picco but Ive seen them run, and Ive seen a couple of top drivers run them and these things scream. My question is I want to run 30percent. What shim do I have to add or what should the clearance be? Also, Ive heard that the skyline pipe works well with it but is there a best choice for this motor when it comes to exhaust. Any other input would much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

use the 2607 pipe or 2617 the manual says it comes shimmed for 30 but some say to add 0.1 shim. i went to 20% and took out one shim it screems and am very happy with 20 over the 30
