i know someone who ran the ostz 5ports up to more than 60 liters until the engine finally broke down. the piston was broken. we also noticed that there was a noticeable play between the conrod and crankshaft pin...
and we quessed that caused the failure...

this is not true. there was a printing issue/mistake with the translation of the instruction manual from japanese to english. a friend asked the OS speed people about this and they were suprised and embarrased. there is a part number for it, it is on one of the OS threads

Its possible, but GP is known to say things like that when they don't want to stock something. I myself have had to make the 4/5 hour phone call to them on more then one occasion to get them to order parts (both OS and Kyosho). You get a lot "why do need this" then 15 minutes on hold, then "whats this for", then another 15 minutes then "let me get a supervisor". It just repeats this till they finally say "OK we'll order it".
Be prepared, it'll take a few hours.

hmm, i dun understand y those online RC shops in HK dun sell these parts. but i got them from HK hobby shops that do not have online sales. i also saw the crankshaft for sale too. its priced slightly more expensive than the piston/linear.

yes, its exactly the same as stock crankshaft. rite now, i still have the piston/linear set with me, new, haven't opened, so if anyone wants it urgently, do let me know, i can sell to you 1st, while i get it on my next trip to HK. btw, i m in malaysia.

They'll wind up lossing OS like they did Kyosho.
