Welcome in my world. Although I am a racer over here the diy is not done, it makes me "a weird duck in the pond" (as we have such a Dutch saying). Many racers have no clue of diy and most do think that you do not win sponsors with it as those guys do tag all used brands when publishing their results on Facebook.
Nevermind. I don’t think you quite understand, but that’s okay.
The “outside the box” thinking is hardly welcomed or received by many/most people on this forum. But!! I know the racer vs. basher mentality all too well.
Facebook is the reason people are getting dumber every day. IMHO.

But at the same time I'm really amazed sometimes by racers really being stuck in a strange mentality of "monkey see, monkey do".
A basher would at least listen to advice, but possibly not be concerned about things that really do matters for racing.
I would think the forum is big enough for everyone, and being clear on what matters to oneself might help people to see if it's the advice they want to take/make.

I was very much against Facebook, and in some ways still are. But in the end of it all it's just people being people and you can decide how involved you want to get, poisonous group mentalities is everywhere in the society though they get a little bit more room there. In the end it's a tool and you choose how you use it, sometimes it's great to use to stay on top of things that happens (that's of concern to you) as well as getting advice (on things of your interest).

Facebook has nothing of value to offer to me - especially when they have proven over and over again that they do not care about the users’ information and will do anything for a buck. No thank you. It’ll be a cold day in hell before I contribute to such a debacle.

That's amazing; sixty (60) views and not one response. This is the reason the Nitro fields of the hobby are dying and losing to electric fields at an accelerated rate. There's zero ingenuity from Nitro, while electric has continuous growth, progress and ingenuity. Lastly, anyone that has been in this hobby any decent amount of time and still buying someone else's fuel; shame on you. Thanks for the "viewings" and I will eventually post results of my findings.
