I'm sure swauger gets a "special" ninja. I heard that ceramic bearings for engines do not last very long because the nitro dries out the plastic bearing housing and they crack. Alittle over 2 gallons now and my .21A is still very strong. No leaks or conrod wear either I'm pushing towards 260-270 on my next run

Hark,

Except for having Ceramics, Mikey's been running the stock version all this time like when he was at the '06 1:8th Nats in Ohio, etc... The Winternats in Florida, is the only time he had the Mario Tuned Version.

Personally, I've been using the box stock version myself (non-ceramics). And I find it has plenty of power to give.

Well from what I've seen, the Ninja is a realllllly good engine!!! I've been a novarossi fan 4 the longest. But from what I seen in Ft Myers, the Ninjas r the next big thing!!

Yeah Pooh, Fort Myers was my first time running something other than a novarossi based motor. I was impressed by the ninja. I want to try the tuned version now.

Any specific break-in recommendations for the .12 engine? WOT? Not WOT? How have the Team guys been doing it??

Thanks!

I'm in a toss up between them and the Sirio STI which I've been watching some of the locals beginners using as I helped them tune it. Hopefully there will be some at the WRAM show on sale as I'm still a bit skeptical of the ZX12s crankshaft issue. The ones they will sell aren't the 06 version.
I used a stock Ninja all of last year. This year I will be running the Mario Tuned Ninja.

I just got back into racing and I'm running a 5 year old (but nearly brand new) mr12 5 port turbo. Are the new mr12s completely new from the ground up or are they new and improved from the old version? Any characteristics they share? power band? torque? Also will they be making a 5 port version?

Hey Randay,

The MR12 that you own is a Novarossi based engine. The Ninja MR12T is a brand new engine from the ground up built by GRP. There will not be a 5 port version of this engine.
