And the Paloma Limited blue-head is basically a Bonito? Both the orange Paloma and the blue one seem to have "Limited" in the name. In shops I've found so far the blue is a "Limited Edition" and the orange is the "Limited" one.. Heh?? Which one is better/closest to the Bonito?

Have found good deals on both......

28-7...same as the Nova 28-7...7 port, not 8 port...the 528 was a 8 port...

Thanks. Guess I should've realized that.. So not going to have the oomph of a 528?... I can get one for €119. Or the blue-headed Paloma for €139(the gold-head is available for €159..) I really don't need (or have time for..) either, but I'm such a sucker for a deal.. I like the pretty blue heads too..

On the Rex Usa site there is no mention of limited on the Paloma blue head engine. The Blue head is very close to the Bonito and has extra long stroke. The Gold head is the limited Paloma it has std. long stroke and should be cheaper as it does not have the Team cnc piston.

The blue head is the paloma. The gold head is the limited edition. Either way get what you can because rex just launched their new line and it will be circulating the old out soon. The new legend engines are based off of the keep off line from nova that was available last year. I dont believe they are 100% the same but will be better. Just as the Keep off was an improvement of the BTTA I know the legend 4 is getting some tweaking and the 4 and 7 will be the succesors of the line.

So which is more aggressive, the blue head or the gold head? Sounds like the blue is better then, since it has the Team CNC piston (whatever that means...)

Again, over here I have found the blue head for €139, and the gold head for €159 (and the .28 for €119...)

The blue head Paloma is a Bonito; extra long stroke. The orange head Limited Edition Paloma is a normal long stroke 7-port. There are not many of the Limited Edition Paloma's left from what I understand.

Default New Nova motor availability

In case you were wondering, REX-USA should have the new Nova motors in Stock and ready to ship this week, except for the new 4-ports, which are still in production. Those should be available within the next 10-14 days!

I think I bought my Paloma right from the same shop, jsb-modellsport. I live in Germany, too. Fast delivery, by the way.

It is supposed to be a Bonito copy, the "R-Paloma.21L". Thats what the printing on the box said. It was still in its shrink package and the seal was not broken. However, the head is also a golden one, not a blue one as it is on the picture in the shop.
But I haven't measured the internals yet, to make sure. I actually don't think I recieved the wrong engine, just one with a different head. Maybe for the german market or something.

That sounds suspicious to me. Maybe someone here can tell you an easy way to check which it is. I don't know how to recognize a "team piston" for ex..

I did some further research and the answer seems to be quite simple:
http://www.rex-usa.com/21-Off-Road_c8.htm
There are two Paloma versions and the Limited Edition has a golden head. That's it.
Couldn't pass on that one for €140.

Yeah but people here have been saying the blue one is the Bonito-based engine(and thus the better one..), not the gold one.

That link from JSB definitely hat the blue one...

http://www.jsb-modellsport.de/novaro...d-edition.html

I'd be pissed if I bought that and got the gold one...

Just noticed the Rex Engines are marked down at rwmods. I have the Paloma Limited Edition and it rips with the Losi re12 pipe in truggy. Might be time for me to buy the blue head bonito based version.

Default plus 5

Ran the plus 5 at the SIC race in Alabama this past weekend. This motor was awesome. Good run time even though the ambient air temp was killing all motors this weekend. I was running it a bit rich since it's new but this motor is no joke, smooth, predictable performance..

This is not a clone of the p5 which a lot of people are claiming. The P5 was one of my favorite motors but getting a chance to run the REX plus 5 has changed my feelings on that. Great engine, great run time with 9901 pipe.

I ran this in buggy and it's perfect. Get you one before they are gone. You wont be dissapointed....
