History of the Nitro Engine
#1
Been looking online, and can't find much history on Nitro engines. Who was the first and were they originally made for R/Cs? I'm interested in the development process.

There is also some interesting reading on Wikipedia , First glow engine was made in 1947 by an American
I personally found this surprising as i thought they came out in the late 70's / early 80,s

71 MPH rail cars! It worked just fine for them. Seems technology went backwards instead of forward. Maybe those cars cut out if you applied brakes? I don't know but how awesome would it be for first time Nitro users to just have to spin the tire with your hand to start the car? Man I almost quite the damn hobby as a newbie just from those damn pull starts
