A852 running in problem
#17
Just a word of caution....I wouldn't be revving it quite that high so early in the break in. These engines are TIGHT. Just adds unneeded stress to it. I usually heat cycles it at least 3 or 4 times on the first tank or 2 and then start revving up slowly to @ quarter throttle.
HSN should be @ flush with the housing from the factory if memory serves me correctly.

I start with both needles flush with housings and tune from there. Never really use other peoples setting because due to climate/ temp differences , tune will be slightly different. Sorry for the vague reply but that's the best i can give you, i don't count how many turns on the needles. I'm sure someone else will give you there needle settings.

Guys,
it it running!!!!
I had to heat it up to 300-350 degrees before I could start it. Had to buy a new heatgun as wel, the old one didn't reach the right temperature anymore. I have to finetune it but that will be done when it is broken in.

Understood, just realize these Alphas are tighter than your average Nitro engine out of the box ;-) We all have our own break in methods...and they all work. These little Taiwanese engines are not your average nitro engine though. Just take your time with them. My first one took just about 2 gallons to break in...my second....nearly 2.5 gallons. It's a slower break in than others I have done for sure.....but they seem to last a bit longer as well (at least in my experience).

I hope that vid wasnt your first tank. I was told never to take it past half throttle when breaking in a new engine. One that is hard to start too. Let it heat cycle and repeat. Follow the engine break in thread at the top.
