THE Engine.....

[QUOTE=Poinas2;9377828]Opinions are like a-holes; we all have one For atleast 95% of us here it really does not matter if you have OS, Nova, JQ, Alpha or even GO. Learn how to tune it and make sure your gear is in working order and you'll be as fast with any of these engines. If you feel better after you've spent 300US or 500US then you go and spend it and if you don't want to spend more than 200USD then you have options to do that. It's your call and what really matters is that you are comfortable on what you run since it's the only thing that matters.
Funny how you state that opinions are basically S@#t and then follow it up with your opinion. So in other words, your talking out your ass.

I sold a ninja that was running it's prime a gallon after a pinch at 9 gallons. Stupid ridiculous engines. I have one at around 3 gallons now n I just really blown away, it's my backup engine tho, honestly the werks b5 stock is a mad dog. I want to try the jq OS tho it's going to be great. 1 question, the carb is sirio style right (short low needle) ??

i have only had issues with the standard OS motors but the speeds have all lasted 6 to 7 gallons before pinch or any other problems. I also only put 6 7 gallons on motors no matter if they still run or not.

At the Euros there were 4 drivers running THE Engine. No flame outs or issues. I bumped 3 times, so raced 80 minutes in the mains. I was able to stop at 10 minutes in the 20min semi final which was good. So runtime was probably around 11min.
As for the durability. I normally run 3 big races on one engine. Big races for me are 3-5 day international events. For a very big race like the Euros, or Worlds, I always go with a new engine.
After this I use it for smaller races, nationals, club races etc. And I can easily do 5 of them. Then I use it for practice.
I dont know how many gallons that is.
I did a test with one engine, running it for 5 big international events, and in the 5th race the idle started being a bit sketchy before the mains. But it ran fine.

...and unfortunately we had some issues getting THE Engines from Japan, but soon they will finally be shipping out to all distributors who ordered them. So the wait is nearing its end. Within August everyone should have them available! Sorry about the delay.

woo-hoo!
I'm looking forward to trying THE Engine.
I have had nothing but great experience with OS engines, had a V-spec do in excess of 15 gallons of fuel with only a bearing change (not becuase they failed, I was preparing for a big event).
My latest XZ-B is running perfectly, and getting good power and runtime, even though some other locally are struggling to make 7 mins.
I do like the idea of having the older 21J carby and not having the long-stroke, as the old VZ-B's went very well indeed
As a side note JQ, have you been using the 2060 pipe? or the 2090?

I like to use the 2060, powerband is smooth, and mileage is good.

15 gallons on an engine with just a bearing change is crazy.
If you don't mind me asking a few questions:
What fuel brand / % were you running?
What brand of plug?
what is your break-in method?
Did you use any form of pre-heating the engine before starting?
On the 2090 I think it was specifically designed to compliment the .19 speed. 2060 works better on the .21.
