Ran the GXII all day today with the Dynamite 053 on it. I know quite a few of you guys can't use the Dynamite pipe in competition, but I just thought I would let you know it works very, very well.
With the power of the GXII it had staunch bottom end and wicked mid range right thru to top end. Smooth, and it gets on the pipe very quickly. Economy was equal to the 2072. I think the 2072 is still king for the GXII at present, but I was mightly impressed by the performance of the GXII - 053 combo. The pipe will be staying in my tool box draw for sure. |

The 7R has a lot more top end than the 5R.
Mid range is about the same, with the bottom end on the 7 being quite strong, but definitly not as strong as the stump pulling low end power of the 5R. 5R is a sweet truggy motor, and 7R is a brilliant buggy motor. 7R run EFRA 2072 or 053 pipe. If you want the best bottom end from the 7R use the 2072  I have put the 7R in my XT8, so far it was good, though it was just in the break in period and was still a little bit rich on HSN - I can see the potential in it with my truggy, besides XT8 is a bit lighter compare to other truggies (I've been with RC8T and D8T). however, if I see I need more low to mid power then I might come back to 5R on my XT8 :) |
Got the GxII today, motor looks great but the box is awesome! lol Cant wait to tear it down and check out the port timing.

I got mine dialed. I removed the run in shim I installed and a little adjustment on the carb I installed. Got the other packed up to mail to Puddin. I'm at 1 gallon gone engine loosening up running great. Will be interesting to see what Puddin says about the carb.

Happy easter to All! :)

http://www.go-racing.vpweb.co.nz/Tech-Tips.html I wouldn't strip it right down. Just take the back plate off and have a nosey, lube it up with after-run as suggested in the guide and away you go. I have always maintained 30% is a little strong for run-in. Use some 25% for the first 15 or so tanks, then step it up. Also if you have a .2mm head shim lying about, run this in the motor for the first 12 - 15 tanks. It will just make things easier for starting and running during these very early tanks. Make sure you remember to remove it, otherwise performance will suffer greatly. |
Hey Guys,
I just wanted to send out an invite to anyone thats in the southern California area to come out to ARC Raceway in Temecula next Saturday for round 1 of JBRL and check out the new GO GXII. We just received 2 of the New GXII engines and we will be out at ARC Raceway next weekend with both of them. If anyone is in the area, they should by and check them out even if your not looking to race. There will be at least 5 guys that I know of running a GO engine and Robert Schneider (deadmancourt) and myself will be out there for support and to answer any questions you may have. If you've only seen pictures of the new GXII, then your missing out. The GXII looks and feels amazing! Pictures just don't do it justice. We will have our GO banner up, so please feel free to come by and say hello if your in the area. Hope to see some of you guys there. If your serious about racing, JBRL always has an incredible turnout! |
Ran my GXII for the first time today in my Truggy.
Still a bit tight,12 tanks thru at the start of the day. Ran flawless, plenty of bottom and nice strong mid/top. 8mm restictor and had just under half tank after 6min heats on a resonably tight track, still rich. Should do at least 10min easily after it loosens up and is leaned on a bit. If it goes this well in a truggy,it will be a beast in a buggy!! |

I stripped it today and gave it a new rod and ceramic main. Normally wait until 1.5 to 2 gallons for this, but with the Auck Champs coming up next week I jumped in early. Internals were mint, and there was just a tiny smidgen of play in the rod after a shorter and harsher run in than I would normally give a motor, as I wanted this one out on the track and turning heads asap after it landed here. Very happy with the performance and economy. |
