Engine is still pretty tight. I do notice this engine revs smoother/quicker than the older gx series 5 port. My temps on the track started at 258 and by my 5th run came down to 230 and 11 minutes with 7.5 restrictor. This video I have a Serpent super heavy steel flywheel(used to tame older GX 5 port). The H.O. is smoother yet revs quicker so I was able to put the stock flywheel back on and get more pep. That back jump is a tough jump and not something most can cleat often.
I have p3 plug, extra shim, Byrons 30% w/ 11% oil, Go pipe/header(bottom end). I feel like the engine will really wake up with a mid to top in pipe on a larger track!

I have a 2013 pipe in the pipeline too (no pun intended), which sounds like it might be just the ticket as well. Hmm, I'm getting excited now

Run it in like that, then throw a set of Answer SiNi ceramics in it from Answer UK. We run these and they are great bearings. They do a kit (front and main).
The difference in engine response and performance is quite noticible, plus a little more economy too. Worth the extra dollars I reckon.

yeah ive changed the front out for a 2 shielded one.
what ive found with the single shielded ones are that they are prone to cause air leaks more than the dual ones, not that singles are bad just duals are better in my opinion.

Thanks for the video Allan. That means the 053 pipe I have waiting in my workshop will be just the ticket on our fairly open and fast track

Got my first look at the new GXII in the flesh tonight. Got to say I was very impressed. As far as first impressions go, this motor looks sexy. Couldn't believe how light the head button and heat sink assembly is when you take it off and hold it in your hand. We have a two day national event this weekend, so it's all go to get a motor run-in in time for our NZ team driver to use.
Neither of us can wait to see how this little number is going to perform

If you would like to put a GX H.O. on pre order we can do that through the speed shop for the customers here in the states. It looks like the pricing is going to be very attractive on these engines.
The Speed Shop can also include break in(full or partial) and Ceramic Bearings should you want this done. Each engine purchased through the Speed Shop will be inspected and sealed free of charge and shipped using Fedex with tracking information.
I also have some discount pricing on a limited number of the GXII series 5 and 7 ports/combos.
Email me direct for details @ [email protected]

Awww - sorry Flanno
To be honest, as is normally the case, the pictures don't do the motor justice.
The quality is very good. Now I just can't wait to get my first shipment, and get the motor out there on the track in numbers for all to see (and hear).
With a good number of GXII's pre sold, it will be a mini GO fest here when they hit the track
