I only have an old MBX5R for now, that I do race at Club days to sharpen the reflexes.
I run the 7 port as I only have the one MG that I keep for Truggy.
+ Running 2 classes is too hectic, I started in Truggy because I love the class.
In saying that, If I get another MG and a MBX6 buggy next year I may do buggy more competative and not just club days.

Here is a pic of Team NZ at the Buggy Worlds in Thailand.
Second on the left (holding the flag pole) is Jerry Davis who is running the MG66X in his X-Ray buggy. Jerry's buggy is being held by the gentleman on the far right of the picture - non other than Mr Massive Mods himself
. Even though Mark is an Aussie, we have adopted him as an honourary Kiwi for the weeks racing - so he can keep Jerry's MG purring like a kitten
Go hard boys

Looks like Jerry Davis, running the MG66 moved from pos:71 on the first Qual to pos:65 after the second Qual. All the best to him and the other GO drivers

Sounds like they have some power
But what about their lifetime? Do they hold up well? How many Gallons do you get out of them? What did you replace already?

We @ MM were doing an experiment and thats why we didn't change the rod at 10ltrs, if I did I'm sure it would still be going today.
I only get 1 engine to run untill something goes wrong, not multipull engines.
My 2nd engine MG66X has had a rod change at 10 ltrs, and is still going strong.
Still has slite metal pinch when cold. Running on MM Amain fuel.

Yep, our customers here are getting very good longevity from the GO GX and MG66 motors.
A lot of it comes down to run-in procedure and the patience it takes to do this properly. A little time spent being careful for those first 15 - 20 tanks will pay big dividends in the long term.
Also pre heating the engine before starting whenever possible will add many litres of extra life as well.
If you don't get 10 + gallons from a GX or MG66 taking the above into account (and with regular TLC) I would be very surprised. They do offer great performance, reliability and value for money.
