I just raced it friday with 2053 and loved it. I ended up actually winning and coming off a 10 min race at 207, it had alot of power and the pipe did good, im sure another pipe will do better but i got 7+ mins on a tank still running really fat considering once i get about another 3/4 gallon through it i will see what it does at about 240. Not ganna go 250 which is what alot of people say run it at but im confadent that i found my engine im ganna stick with and thats DYNAMITE! Alpha also very nice i might try it next.

i can tell you right now if you run it rich you will break a rod alot quicker, running rich wont make your engine last longer, it will shorten the life of the engine just like it would running it lean, dont be scared to get it hot, i dont use a temp gun for that purpose, i temped mine this weekend and i was coming off at 270-275 and it was tuned perfect. but like i said running it rich is bad for it too! :nod:

Supposedly this engine is comparable to the Alpha Z, Green Monster. That being said, I am running the Z in my D8T and am very happy :)

I run the Alpha S852 (orange) in my truggy and the Z852 in my buggy. My son is sponsored by Dynamite and runs the Dynamite Xpe in his truggy and buggy. I have had them both apart and the Dynamite is just like the Z852 not the red head. In my opinion the S852 is perfect in a truggy, awesome bottom end and great top end. The Xpe in my sons truggy runs very well also, he gets quite a few looks as it really rips on the top end.
I have not ran the red head yet, I have had one apart and did some measuring on the port timing etc. Just a little modding and it would rip as good as the Z852. I will probably run one in my buggy next year. Rex |
Lovin this engine so far even with grp 20503 im gettin great power bands. Im still fat im runnin 207ish range but will be leanin it a bit this friday. I got over a half a g on it and i think its ready for some more heat. Last friday i got a good early lead winning on a small track and had a bobble leading to crash and lost the guys. Still had a great day though, going from b main mid pack average to a main average is very impressive. also nice to not have a flame out or anything which i have had happen almost every race before this engine. I would have to say kudos to the dynamite and Alpha team for making a great engine for a great price.

Yes will wheel a truggy just fine. 2 of my friends run them in truggy, they both scream and run very nice. Only thing ive had with this engine is my top needle o-ring want bad and made the needle really easy to loosen, but 25 cents laiter that day and it was the end of it. Never had it happen again since.

The Losi RE11 is an inexpensive pipe that works really well on them... it is essentially an OS 2050 clone. It is also tough and good looking compared to other pipes in the price range. |

Wait until about the 2 gallon mark when it really drops it's nads... THEN 207 might be the appropriate temp to tame it down enough to handle! :eek: :lol: |
