I just did the break in with a GRP 2053, do you think I need to buy a new tuned pipe or stay with that one

Doing the break in with the 2053 is ok. I would still definitely recommend looking into the Alpha 0801 pipe regardless. I also ran mine with a Reckward 2041 pipe with very good luck as well. Either one of those will work awesome.

get the 0801 pipe, the 2053 has NO bottom... also do NOT run a OS P4 if your not a good tuner, the tuning window is extremely small, it does run better with P4s but its harder to tune. P3 is the most common and easiest to tune, also when its under 75 degrees out the P4 sucks.

and dont you recomend an jp tuned pipe?? witch one??

not for the Alpha engines, the JP pipes i only like on my JPX or O'donnell SS engine but run time is effected. on the Alpha or 21xpe, i wouldnt run any other pipe other than the 0801, ive tried alot of different pipes and alway put the 0801 pipe back on.

what you think about the 21xpe in general?? is a good engine? a cheap engine? or only one more engine???

The .21 XPE is no slouch of an engine. It is basically an Alpha Z852 with some minor changes (nothing that would really show performance wise). They're VERY tight engines from the start that require a rather lengthy break in period (easily a gallon), but they do last. Just don't go beating on it right away, it won't like that. I personally run P4s in mine, but I've been doing nitro long enough to tune stuff with my ears to know when it's right.

I've run my engine up against all the major brands. Just this past weekend against some of the NorthEast's fastest guys at the NorthEast Super Series, I TQed Pro Buggy and finished 2nd with my XPE. The track had a lot of high speed parts which this mill just loved.

It's a fantastic engine for the money that will run with some of the best stuff available. :nod:

One of the Losi guys here runs the XPE and that thing is NO slouch!!! Just like them all the wrong gearing and wrong clutch can make or break em.

What's the consensus on Dyn plugs? I just won a 6 pk of #5 and plan to use em in my Alpha mills this w/end at RCPro. I know, P4/P3 and or OD 97 are the popular choice, no need to tell me that over.

just got mine completly broke in on my 2053 i liked it alot not alot of bottom though but it will do the job.

Xray if youve got a 2035 laying around run it. Its real close to the 801 little better run time. Not alot of noise.

I run the #4 and think they are very good. They remind me of an MC59. #5 should be really close.

IMO i would go with the Red Head Alpha which is 30 bucks cheaper ;) almost the same exact thing. i know Alphas take close to two gallons to break in fully. when breaking them in, make sure to use a heat gun and get it up to about 180-200 before even crank it. idle 6-8 tanks at around 190-200 degrees and youll be good.

On my Dynamite break in i got a lil over a half of a gal on the exp and with plug out i sitill have a little resistance, so im not 100% past break in but with plug in its got a butt load of resistance but i dont need a heat gun to crank it now. I just raced it friday with 2053 and loved it. I ended up actually winning and coming off a 10 min race at 207, it had alot of power and the pipe did good, im sure another pipe will do better but i got 7+ mins on a tank still running really fat considering once i get about another 3/4 gallon through it i will see what it does at about 240. Not ganna go 250 which is what alot of people say run it at but im confadent that i found my engine im ganna stick with and thats DYNAMITE! Alpha also very nice i might try it next.
