Recently buddy and I tried ut the uber budget friendly protek bearings and they have proved to be good so far. 2 gallons on them or so, the front still seals and no other issues. For $25-$35 to change both bearings I thought it was worth a shot.

You can actually get the pair for $5 cheaper ordering individually from A Main hobbies... The same rear bearing is $14 cheaper at A Main. The same exact front bearing is a little more at AMain (probably because it doesn't come in a bag with 'Protek' on the label), but the cost of the rear offsets the combination by $5 cheaper at AMain (plus it's not a seperate order).

The front bearing is a better quality IMO to OS (it's dual shield, leave both on). Out of the few I have, I had one go out after around 6 gallons, which is acceptable for me. The rear bearing, well it's not ceramic, but they've lasted longer than the OS ceramics I've had.

Exactly why Hara gave up on ceramics. The Hara Speed uses steel.

Ive had really good luck with OS ceramic bearings always changed as preventable maintenance only had one fail out of many speeds Ive owned. Ive had a few still do. Fuel and having clean filters is key in my eyes.

Ha ha, this is funny. In sportsman I dont care who has the most power, driving skills win every time. I do know that most guys with a fast motor, modded or not, that can pull 4 mph over the next guy almost always love the power so much they hit the outside pipe almost every time. Then the guy with the slower motor passes them on the inside.
