Looking to buy a few clutch bells for a rc8b3, picco 5tr, werks clutch. Would the reds vented clutch bells be good?

I think the stock Durango DNX8 clutch bell inside diameter is too large for the Werks pro clutch. Can anyone confirm this? I can't get it to engage, or am I doing something wrong? Engages just fine with the stock clutch, but wont with the Werks medium clutch even at full throttle. Everything seems to be installed correctly. The clutch bell spins freely, the flywheel isn't moving on the collet. I'm sure its operator error, I'm just trying to figure it out.

Figured it out. Durango bells are fine with the Werks clutch. Operator error as I suspected.

Yep. I run a 13T Reds vented clutch bell on the Werks 4 shoe in my X-Ray XB8. Seems to be a good solid bell.

Did a little test fit tonight with the Ofna 13t bell and my Nova Elite 5.

With the standard nova collet, the shaft won't clear the end of the bell.

Are there any collets that would give me maybe another 2mm of clearance?

Otherwise it looks like shaving a few mm off the collet is my other option.

The end caps (washers) have a 1.2mm lip that effectively lengthens your crankshaft by this amount. You just shim up the difference.
The picture on A-Main isn't all that clear.
These work very effectively. We often recommend them to customers using the Buku front bearing caps - as shimming so the the cap has clearance with the flywheel can sometimes result in a lack of crankshaft protruding at the clutch bearing end.

If 1.2mm is not enough, Kyosho do a similar unit with a lip of about 3 or 4 mm. Don't have the part number of hand, but A-Main has them .

Hi.

Have been so lucky buying +10 clutches for $15...
Beside Ultimate and Xray clutches, there is a brand new Werks Power Clutch incl. 4?? different springs and teflon + carbon shoes.

What would be a good setup for a truggy on a medium grip track?

Thanks

thats the old werks clutch

wich is a copy of the fioroni adjustable from 2006, i prefered the turbo slider as i was lazy and shoes would last six gallons back then

Correct. I'm pretty sure Werks no longer supply that clutch unit.

You should be looking at the 2015 Pro 4 shoe unit with 2 hole crown piece for even more adjustability - see pic.
These come in 32mm and 34mm flywheel diameters, as well as heavy, medium, standard and super light flywheel weights.
One of the best 1/8 off-road clutches available. We sell heaps of these to very satisfied customers, and the special proprietory "large footprint" alloy shoes last for gallons - literally !!

Ha ha, well ok then

Having been a Werks distributor for the last 6 or so years I know the product range pretty well - and it no longer includes the clutch you pictured.
They haven't been around for some years now.

terrible clutch for truggy ! not very good clamping force and a tendency to self adjust as you run...discontinued roughly a decade ago for a reason !

Hehe. Thanks guys.
