Ive noticed with cre mills people get tricked cause they have lot of power thinking its on a race tune but its actually rich then they wonder why run times are lacking. Also they run a wrong plug something that's cheap or way to hot.. Plugs selection is important or they have incorrect button clearance.
Few years back on my first purchase Neil walked me through the whole process on button clearance and adjustmet this has helped me big time to extract every bit of power and runtimes. I was getting close to 15mins on my cre b5 if anyone wants to learn check out the clockwork site he has a link giving a DIY if your inexperience use a crap mill play with your clearance you will learn a lot or leave it to the pros.

No its not that at all, It took me a long time to get it right because the tune had so much power I thought I was on the money but my temps where around the 185f - 195f mark after a main final and it was driving me mad, so I started to lean the top end and bottom end a little more at a time and before I new it the animal was created at which point the temps started to get into the 220f - 240f after a main final and my idle gap would be between 0.4 and 0.5 for a good steady idle.
I cant count how many races that i did really well in with the rich tune as the power was well and truely there but the engine temps and run time was the area that I was missing which is the best part about having a clockwork racing engines motor in the first place, having enough power to out run others on the track and the runtime to keep up with the best of them in a race.

I've been guilty of richening up Neal's engines. Sometimes they are just plain scary! Also depending on your track conditions and layout and also the length of your main it may be smarter and easier to tone it down a bit than to change your clutch, pipe, or watch your buggy spin out and blow off the tires

I'll admit to having run the wrong plugs, namely with the clocked P5. I usually ended up chasing the tune through a couple of tanks. Hell, it still put out tons of power with ueber oily fuel and a plug that was too hot (not that I recommend doing it). Running a Werks#6 and the right fuel really showed me what this engine is capable of..

Just a question on the RB Fire11.
For the guys that are running this motor, what glow plugs are you running in them?
I currently am using Odonell 97T plugs, Not sure if going to another plug type will give me any noticeable longer run times?
Currently getting 7 minutes with a 7mm venturi.

the 97T is a very hot plug for that engine IMHO.......stock or modified.......A cooler plug will definitely help mileage, but I wouldn't expect the greatest run time from a stock F11 as it runs very high blowdown timing......... Also the F11 is a very tight engine, I wouldn't expect it to wake up till its about 2 gallons old...

Lovin the bonito by the way,got my 086 pipe and competition heat today and boy what a difference.
Weird thing tho with the competition heat,after about 10 minutes it starts to smoke a little and the white stitching has discoloured,is that normal?
Also after 20 mins its only at 156-160 and holds but the outside of the material hits 350,was the element maybe installed backwards in the sleeve?

Is your engine Clocked ?

Sorry, yes it is the clocked Fire11.

what tuned pipe ?
what clutch and in what vehicle....
97T is a very very bad idea in a Clocked Fire 11, your dancing with danger running that plug.........That plug is scorching hot for a engine that runs as high of compression as my F11 does.........Be very careful you don't drop the coils into the engine, OD97 are not durable enough for that engine IMHO.....I suggest a Werks #6 or Nova #6..........
We have seen improvements in mileage by swapping to a long LSN carb...the stock carb has a very short LSN....A long LSN meters the fuel better and will deliver better runtimes..........

Haven't had much to do with Nova plugs.
The pipe is the RB 2087
The clutch is a Fioroni 3 shoe with vented flywheel
The buggy is a MBX6
The clocked Fire11 was pre run in and had maybe 3-4 tanks through it since on 30%
