I'm sure with a 086 its gonna be even faster and no high revvs before settling down to idle, seems like it has a air leak for a minute then calms down to a proper idle,is that normal? Maybe just the pipe?

I used neals clutch break in tech and it worked like a charm, grabs nice and smooth.

As soon as I can get some video I'll post a link.

Thanks again neal and john,I'm one happy dude.

High idle means your idle gap is too big...... have you adjusted the idle gap any ?

It will idle high for 30-45 seconds and gradually idle down to normal.

By idle gap you mean the idle adjustment screw? Of so then yes I have I closed the gap to lower it but I get that high idle just after throttle.

I can take some video and post it?

its your idle gap, or you linkage holding the idle open....not a airleak...... trust me !!

No need to video...however you should dial me up and I can give you a little tuning primer......

also its normal for a new engine to high idle a little coming off throttle......new engines require a larger idle gap and due to that the engine will want to high idle a little coming down off throttle

Also the JP3 tends to enhance that high idle effect on some engines.....

Hey,

we ran our clocked Bonito yesterday the first time.

The engine runs really well.

It is still a little rich but it only has about 1 litre through it.

Runtimes of 9 minutes on the track with the Nova 2096 pipe.

It was the first time that we run the new Team C T8T too.

Thanks you . The engine is great. Very nice to handle.

The clutch is a Reckward Speed 2.5 Extended Carbon and for the fuel we use RB 25%.

And last but not least, the plug is a Novarossi C6TGC.

Talk to Neal on the phone and remind him to eat some almonds
I have learned a lot from phone chats with Neal. He has always been spot on too.

Hang on its a wild ride in a truck. It just does not care if you clutch it up a tooth it just pulls and pulls and pulls

That is exactly what Neal and I found last season with the Bonito. It actually loved gearing it up a tooth and still hit our triples with authority.

I'll shoot you a call tomorrow.

I checked the linkage and adjusted it a little and made sure its free and closes and opens the carb smoothly.

I ran another tank today and it still does the high idle but about a quarter tank left it was doing it less and less so it seems like I just need to get a few more tanks thru it and wait for warm days because its been in the 40s and I don't have a heat sink cover so when I get to top speed it cools down to 150-160 and fattens up.

Thanks for your help and his awesome engine.

be careful...you can really hurt an engine running it that cold...best to have it 200 and above....
