Lance I finally got back to breaking in the engine. She is purring like a kitten now. Just needed a little extra heat from the heat gun and whala! Hope to get another 5-6 gallons on that new pinch.
Thanks again for the excellent service!

I have a couple P/S sets i want done (light pinch), they are actually it good shape but power has droped off.
One question though, on one of my piston skirts there is a small area on the skirt where it hit the backplate because my dumb a$$ forgot to screw the backplate on before puting it on the starter box. So when i turned it over the back plate was going in and out and hit the skirt (put a very small indention in it at the very bottom of the skirt)
hasn't effected performance really and i would like to get that set pinched to as well, (if you would do it)
been to your website already, and as soon as i get off my butt and put it together i will send it to you.
Where are you located?

Well I spent the better half of this morning trying to break in my newly pinched B5. The pinch on the p/s was done so well I blew one of my lipos on my box trying to get this thing turned over

My B5 wasn't this tight when I bought it. And yes, I slapped on the Comp Heater and I still can not get this thing to fire up.
I got the Medium pinch on the P/S and it does look great. Just curios if anyone else had a hard time doing the break in after a pinch. The engine never once fired up for me this morning....

But for the good news,
This piston and sleeve set, once it fully broke in (took 4444444eeeevvvveeerrrr), has been one of my best and longest lasting sets. It has lasted longer then a new P/S would normally last before needing a pinch. Don't know how many gallons are on it but its still running strong.
Chances are, your P/S set was in really good condition and only really needed a light pinch. But don't worry bro, it's just going to take a while longer but will last forever.

If it is a small area on the piston it should be fine. We can clean it up and should be able to get it back to Good
We are located in riverside California area.
Thanks so much,

Your piston/sleeve had some scratches that we had to clean up. Usually we dont have to resize engines that are in perfect shape very tight. Our way of doing it is actually breaks in very easy compared to most others , and still last a long time. But each engine is different and requires different care. But in your case we had to snug it up a but more to insure a good wearing in of the piston and sleeve surface to each other because of the moderate scratches. If we had done it light it just would not have lasted you.
But glad to hear eveythings good. Thanks for the update

Take care and thank you,

Are the scratches a result of dirt getting in the engine?
No problem

Most likely yes, OR a glow plug element coming apart. What air filter oil do you use? Its sad to say but most of the air filter oil out there sucks... for very dusty, dirty environments...Excuse my french

I have never used Kal gard before? BUt I use all the other products and like them a lot. Do this test next time you go out.... Clean and re-oil your air filter before you go. and check your carb venturi to make sure there is no "dust" in it, clean it out with a Q-tip if there is. Then go out and run for the day. Then remove your air filter and check to see if there is any dust or dirt in the carb venturi or in the air filter boot. If there is not then your good, if there is, then Change oils to something that will catch the dirt better. We tried a lot of air filter oils out there (not all of course) And our brand air filter oil and the kyosho "green" work the best in our opinion.
