Yes, it is a different Voltage. We have sold quite a few Comp heaters to the UK and Europe. All our customers with 220-240v purchase a power converter at their local electronics store (very inexpensive). If you read through the last few pages of the Comp heat thread there is info on this subject.

i sent you an email did you receive it?

i will have a read an have look for a power converter

many thanks

If you go down the Competition Heat route, I have a bnib spare 240-110v converter you can have....just cover the postage and it's yours!

Or you can pick it up if you are off to a meeting I'm going to....will be doing Kent SRS this weekend, Herts the following and Herts round of the SRS the weekend after....after that, I haven't decided but hope to do the Proline at the end of August...

Or, you can get one from somewhere like Maplins...

Just wondering, isn't the heater better to wrap around the crank case instead of the heat sink?

hi there,

i should be going down the competition heat route. i have had an offer made to me by eric.

but because im only 15 i normally have to barrow a bit of money off my dad once and a while. and im currently getting an radical engine from my sponsor (radical engines www.gotnitroonline.com) and they say to break in their engines by heating them up. that is why i have started this thread.

but i will pm you when i get the heater should be in the next couple of weeks.

many thanks

Out of interest, how hot does it get it? Does it get much hotter than that i.e. if you forget it and leave it on....

I leave my Competition Heater on my Engine just about all day long at the track. Keeps my Truggy a toasty 160-180 degrees out in the wind and such. In my workshop at home it will bring it up to @ 190-210ish and that's about as hot as it will get....no matter how long I leave it on. At least from my testing...

It very efficient Jaff and I wouldn’t recommend forgetting it for too long. For summer use ive now wired only one element in the bulb as when the ambient temp are high like today it does get warm quick. The second element can be used for winter racing when the ambient temps are low and you need that extra heat to combat whats being lost.

Here a couple of pics of the large casing which were finished today

and one fitted, mallet stickers are not standard hehe

One H1 bulb and one 4s Lipo. Wrap alu tape around the head and put the car upside down. Turn on the power and your engine are warm in a few minutes.

go to the second to last item on the page. DC voltage, flexable silicone rubber heat strips.

I don't see it - all I see is heat proof tapes and conductive tapes, nothing with electric coil stuff in it?
Correct link?

EDIT: found it, different section http://www.mcmaster.com/#heat-sheets/=fdeydy
