The MP1 is not on our list of approved pipes here so I haven't tried it however I will say the 0801 pipe is truely brilliant. The Go, PR, Aplus, Alpha and Redline pipes are all the same, the later ones sold under the Alpha/Aplus line have a reinforced stinger and are much stronger. I really highly recommend them on the PR. I am also using a HN 2027 which is a little easier to get the magic 10 mins out of and smooths the power even more. I would use the 0801 in Truggy and something like the 2027 for buggy and run PR21BS motors in both.

Guy,

You can now find the PR21C at amain for 159.99 http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ine-Turbo-Plug

and the PR21BS for 229.99

Great Engines at a Great price. 229.99 for a fully modified race engine!!!

yup, i got a 3 port on the way. hope these cases are better than the old go cases i was going through left and right. for $159, if this 3 port is better i'll be fine with 4 gallons or so.

AndysD8 05-01-2010 12:32 PM

Would eithe of these engines be recommended for a truggy? I ran across them while looking on amain last night and the price is great, but I'd never heard of them until I read this thread.

I would get the 5 port full mod for a truggy, but if budget is an issue the 3 port will work fine.

Hi guys.
Read the whole thread, and was wondering if the PR 21BS would be manageable in a buggy.
Also would the HN 2047 be good on performance and runtime side?
What kind of runtime should i expect on European style tracks?

Thanks in advance

janderson78 05-02-2010 02:45 AM

Yes the PR21BS is also great for Euro style tracks. I have not used that pipe so I cannot say how it will work. But the PR pipe you should get about 10 or mor minutes depending on driving style

got the 3 port broke in and ready for track time. i did the drake/cyrul for 1 full bottle. tuning was a bit different than im used to on the go carb. bottom is flush and top is in a hair in, backwards before. i got the 2035 on there first.

Well got to run my PR21BS this weekend.Break-In went very smooth only had to lean the bottom needle 2 hours to get it to start.Once idling good I richened it back up the 2 hours and heat cycled 2 tanks at idle. After that I ran 500cc on the street before hitting the track. It seems the high speed needle is set very close from the factory as I only leaned it about 3-4 turns in from the factory settings. It is still blowing lots of smoke but making good power already running around 230-240 with it still have some metal pinch left. What surprised me was the fuel mileage its getting.I was running my 5 minute qualifier and coming in with the fuel at the tank seam on my losi 8T 2.0.I pitted at the 8:30 mark for our 25 min main.I'm running the stock 8mm venturi with an OS p3 plug.I normally run Ninja JX21's and never felt like I was lacking power anywhere. Can't wait to get it fully broke in so I can tune it to see what power it has left but I'm very pleased so far.

Kalgard Racing 05-09-2010 06:25 PM

Jackie, motor looked good.....even for just breaking in and fat. Pipe sounds nice too. Congrats on the win....even tho your pit guy needs some serious help:nod:
