Anyway not a bad price for them. Go Tech engines have proven to be a very good bang for your buck and I'm sure these will be the same.

I guess mine are playing games too, because they sure are uneven.

That is a pre-production photo. Below is a pic of an actual production sleeve if it makes you feel better. Nate.

I ran the 3port for a while to give a freind of mine who is importing them in to New Zealand some feed back.

I ran it with a go/HN 2047pipe with a longer header ( header off the Go 0801pipe) o'donnal 97t plug on 30% and I can tell you it is a very good engine very strong bottom end even smooth power through the range and lots of legs up top. runtimes varied depending on the track and how hard I was pushing but 9mins+ was never a problem.

This engine looks very much like the JS!!

I can guarantee you the engines posted in this thread are made by GO Tech.;)

from what I've been told the PR engines are based on Go engines but are modded and parts changed to their specs.

I currently run Go engines and I can tell you that the Go Gx 3port performes completely different to the PR 3 port as the PR has a little more power right through the range. the only thing I hope they do is to use the coated cranks that go are using on their GX series engines Talk about extended engine life:nod:

I ran the 3 port in the rc pro north rd one last weekend, finished 4th. Tuned it in 80 degree weather and with a cold front coming through with rain and no practice, it took a small adjustment to make it right for the conditions. I ran the whole main with no issues, good and consistant power the whole time and came off the track at 195, given it was only 60 degrees out.

I compared this engine to a GO and to the JS, the JS case and carb and internals are different, the only thing that looks similiar is the head. and again with the GO, completely different parts.

Will say that Davids buggy this weekend did scream. Even though the conditions were bad.

These certainly look promising... Which one would I wan for a buggy and which for my truggy??

janderson78 04-28-2010 01:01 PM

David was running the PR21C, it is the 3 port and I think is good for buggy. I think you would want the PR21BS for truggy!

YES they are made in the go factory but from a design made by PR and then all MODs are done in the PR factory.

Hope this helps!

Mauve 04-28-2010 04:50 PM

I haven't tried the 3 port yet but a friend has laying about at home some where. Don't doubt the PR21BS in a buggy, it develops power in a very very managable way, smooth and hauls across the entire range.

Trust me the 3port mod is plenty for a buggy! ;)

Mauve 04-28-2010 05:40 PM

May have to get my grubby little mits on one and have a play with it. Wonder how one would do with a .4mm deck height on 25%... may just have to try that :sneaky:

Brian Alderman 04-28-2010 05:50 PM

It might just be the ticket! What are the differences in the two pipes that PR offers? The MP1 is what I have and it is very smooth from bottom to top with excellent run times, just wandering about the other?
