Tony,

Have you tried the 21BT yet?

I have heat cycled 21BT with 6 tanks on the box and 3 on the deck, not come alive yet, however wondered if you had run one in yet.

For some reason it kept on cutting, probably too rich, however going to run the 21B tomorrow as its had about 3/4 gallons and is really coming to life.

We are racing on this track tomorrow;
maxbashing.com/mbforum/showthread.php?t=11215[/url]

and want to take my time with the BT as I recon it will be special.

I have not tested the Tuned engine yet, our tracks have been closed for over a month. It has snowed here several days already :( our season is much shorter than most. But the feedback I have received from team members is very good, the Tuned engine is definetly the cadillac of the engine line, good smooth usable power with a even more precise carb and once again excellent mileage.

My experience with the engines is you'll need to run at the least of about a gallon to get it close to loose enough for decent mileage and consistent tune. I have engines that have 3-4 gallons on them that I cant turn over by hand cold. Warm they turn over, the seal is excellent.

Is there anyone at the worlds running the tecno engine?

Tony Newland 11-09-2010 10:27 AM

Yes quite a few europeans... Rody is also there

JCathey 11-10-2010 03:18 PM

Got my order in for the tuned .21

I started my breakin this weekend. Two tanks on the box sat and two tanks running today. the top was really rich so i had to lean her a bit to keep it running. I think i'll head out to the track in the morning.

Thanks

Marcus Sandberg was to run in the last 16th final but was not able to make the race due to getting sick the night before Marcus was the highest placed driver with Tp engine. Tp only had 2% of the drives running this engine. That number should grow for the 2012 Worlds in Jundiai, Brazil

Tony Newland 11-15-2010 11:48 AM

There were a few there in the european drivers cars... Rody was also there testing a few things as well as gathering data on the conditions. I received emails and updates throughout the week from Rody, he also posted some videos on his FB page of the Tecno's racing throughout the week

Nice Donnie !!

RCworks216 11-16-2010 03:12 AM

Thanks Tony. I can tell this motor is going to be a screamer. Im going to order some h6 plugs today. Im thinking of going to Motorama in feb 2011. im sure we will have a lot of tecno Power running around.

You will start to see more and more of them next year. I have been running the standard version and have been more than happy with the performance of the engine, coming from running RB's. The tuned engine is only going to be better, and anyone that knows Rody and what he has done knows that these engines will constantly improve rather than trying to make the same thing work for years on end.

Our last posted race is Dec 11. these guys in NC are crazy, as long as its not too cold or wet or snow they will run. Motorama kinda kicks off the season come FEB 2011.

losiracer78 11-22-2010 02:08 PM

Not much going on in here the last week any new engine updates from anyone or testing results , likes or dislikes.

Tony Newland 11-22-2010 08:21 PM

Our racing has been over for weeks.. and snowed another foot yesterday so stick a fork in the outdoor season, Its just too short around here 5-6 months is the most well ever get. Tuned and Truggy engines will be here tomorrow or wednesday :)

nick64merc 11-22-2010 09:27 PM

When will the truggy engine be available at Amain or Absolute? Will there be a Tuned version of the Truggy engine? Can you put the Coated backplate from the tuned motor on the truggy motor? Or is the case different? Does the truggy engine have a silicone filled crank?

Thanks
Nick

Tony Newland 11-22-2010 09:58 PM

Not sure neither have preordered any

Most likely there will be but not for a while

Im sure the backplate is the same

No its not filled... just the Tuned 21 for now

Funking-Awesome 11-23-2010 01:14 AM

I have got state titles coming up Thursday - Sunday! Can't wait to properly run my engines!

I raced the motor for the first time yesterday. We had outside temps in the mid 50's. this motor was easy to break in and i can tell that once its fully broken in it will be a screamer!!! im running Torco 30% with a jp1 pipe. Im almost at the 1 gallon mark. cant wait to see how she runs after its fully broken in.

vti-chris 11-28-2010 09:36 AM

What pipe will give the best top end with good runtimes?
What venturi is everyone using for truggy use?

J.Whiting 11-30-2010 11:45 AM

tony. sent you a pm..... jeremy

The HIPEX 2034 is what they ran at the worlds track to get the extra top end they were looking for. For the tracks I race on I have not had any top speed issues running the 2069, but I don't run on any track that has a straight more than 150 feet either.

I personally like the 2069 the most.. for me it provides the best balance of response and top speed. As far as venturi I would probably stay with a 7mm or bigger, unless your using the .23 and that will run well with the 6mm.

Let me know how the .23 runs, 2 feet of snow isnt exactly the ultimate test bed for all the new stuff :(

Dam that was fast... niiiiice

Do me a favor and try the enduro backplate on the .23... Im 99% sure it will fit, but want to make sure

I will let you know for sure, I will also test the .23 with the tuned crank only and the tuned crank and backplate, see if I notice anything huge. I am a eiffffffff scale junkie I think.

Tony Newland 12-01-2010 12:37 PM

cool... no scale here... 2 feet of snow, got down to 4deg the other night...... :flaming: I hate snow

Chris Peralta 12-01-2010 12:39 PM

LOL dude we have not even had enough snow here to measure yet. I am sure now that these just arrived there is a huge storm brewing in the near future.

Tony Newland 12-01-2010 12:42 PM

your welcome for absorbing all the storms before they get to you guys :lol:

In stock at Nitro North.com

The crankcase and rod are the same on both 21s and the 23. The 23 uses the same crank and backplate as the B01 while using the carb from the B01T

Chris Peralta 12-01-2010 10:03 PM

The tecnoduro tuned back plate for the tuned .21 will not work on the .23 since the bore is bigger on the .23 the piston will hit on the backplate at BDC. Don't try putting this backplate on the .23 or you will break a piston.

The tuned .21 crankshaft does fit the .23 perfectly tho.

Chris Peralta 12-01-2010 10:05 PM

The .23 does not come with a silicone filled crank.

vti-chris 12-01-2010 10:39 PM

I currently run a 9mm venturi but i tried a P4 the other day with a 6.5mm venturi and was much around the same on low end but had way more top end...can't imagine it with a 9mm!!

Tony Newland 12-02-2010 10:01 AM

I cant say I've ever ran a 9mm restrictor... :weird:

Chris Peralta 12-02-2010 10:17 AM

I tried a 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 8, and 9 in the standard engine and ended up going back to the 7 for the best all around performance/reliability/fuel economy.

johnperdeye 12-04-2010 06:55 PM

Just got my .21 bo1-t what do you think the Orion 2066 pipe would do mileage and power wise on a buggy?

053 or 069 or jp-1 would be my choice if i didnt have the 2069 pipe...i dont know enough about the orion pipes to give an honest answer.. give it a try.... what is the worst that is going to happen?? bad fuel mileage with a soft power band.... maybe it will be a screamer!!!

got the .23 running today.. got 3/4 of a gallon on this motor.... still so tight that i cant turn over by hand when warm... has very very good bottom end.. but looks like it will turn some rpm's once fully race ready... have not pulled over 1/2ish throttle yet...

the .21 (non tuned) has 2 gallons on it and is still very hard to turn over.. runs like a top and is getting very good run time on the 2069 pipe... a big thank you to tony for letting me have a chance to run the mills... jeremy
