I get the pre runs but if I were to break it in myself I would just use the heat cycle method.

Question on the pre-runs. Is this something Novarossi does? Ive only seen them on the absolute website. How broken in was the engine when you bought it? Scott

I was told from the team manager that you can literally open the box, throw them in the car and race them. I go ahead and idle a tank just to suit myself but they are ready to rip. Yea, I've only seen the pre runs on absolute's site.

Is that something that novarossi told him or is this just something that he believes. Because I really don't think that is real good advise to be coming from a Losi team manager.

How many liters do you have through the motor and do u no how much went through before it came to you?

Quad Racer 34 04-28-2012 07:23 PM

Losi? No, I said nothing about Losi, im talking about Novarossi... pre run engines are broken in from the factory so you don't have to break them in yourself.

Pre run engines save a lot of time just be careful they don't run that much fuel always best to be nice with good temps for the first gallon

Im in the market for a new motor. my question is do I need a modded novarossi? Im changing motor choices almost on a daily basis... dont know what to choose.. I WANT 10min easy, will I get that with a stock bonito?... need help badly as this is my first top of the line mill as all my previous are GO and losi 350 lol. Also want to save as much money as possible cause I could use some maintenance type stuff... budget is $450ish on motor.

Since this is a NOVAROSSI thread, then this is what I recommend :
Buggy- plus4 btta or btts(ceramic bearings)
Truggy- Roma .25
It is your choice on whether or not u want them modded or stock. Honestly, both of those mills will be sufficient in regards to power and runtime out of the box when paired with the right exhaust system and clutch. I have never ran the Roma .25 but from what I hear it has tons of power as tou would expect and 10min runtime to boot.

Hey Brian?,

I am sorry I don't know your face..... Have raced with you the last two weekends though ;-)

Have you called Uriah at MurnanModifieds. Com??? I was in your place just two weeks ago and wad running a Go that had been running perfect for two months. I called him up and told him what I was looking for. He is very low key and honest and also just down the road in Metro Atlanta. I was also considering the Clockwork but decided shipping and phone calls to Winnipeg, Canada would be a problem. Actually Uriah was at our GCS this weekend..... Maybe you talked to him.?? However...... You get what I have and I will be losing my power advantage :-P :-P.

Hope this helps..... BTW.... Telll him Barry sent you and he may give you a good discount....... He is like that..... Great guy and really knows motors!

Plus4 btta with a Losi re10 pipe, in a truggy, will be plenty fast and get good run times, even if your tune is off a little bit. While a .25 does get good run time, it is not as forgiving in the fuel consumption, if your tune is a little fat and you're hard on the throttle. More power needs more air and fuel and creates more tire spin, in loose conditions, but on a big track, if you gear up on the bell and drive smooth, with the throttle, the .25 will haul ass and get good run times. I hope this helps you out. I am no pro, but I race with them (well...I try! :D)
