It really is an awesome engine especially for the price Neal sells them for with a full Mod

not to mention the dirt cheap con rods too I've got over 8 gals in mine and only changed the rod once, just because.

Maximo and xc7.

Have you ever tried the Novarosi 9901 pipe on a stock engine?

I have had a couple of customers try it on the modified JL and they said it really hurt the bottom end....

Hi.

Hurt the bottom??? Damn. I've too much bottom with my 9901. I run a Novarossi 6 mm venturi and a NOSRAM ]-shaped long header. Next year I'll try the original Novarossi header 41021 to gain a little more top and less bottom.

I'll look for a good deal with a RE-10 and JP-3 pipe (and perhaps a JP-1)

Cheers

i actually had thought you had told me you had to remove a head shim to get the proper bottom end with the 9901, and that you didn't like the JP3 cuz it had too much bottom ...which matches exactly what another a customer of mine had said...the issue with removing a shim is it raises the compression quite high, which will reduce the fuel mileage......so IMO the best bet is the JP3 or RE10 as both make excellent bottom without removing a shim, and they also both get good mileage....I guess I will have to try a 9901 myself(if I can find one) and test it back to back with the RE10 and the JP3.....

actually you told me to add the shim that you sent extra... and i had to remove that shim that you told me to add.. and this was way before i ran the 9901.. this was actually with the 1005 and the 2013.. i ran the 9901 to see if i can get some more run times out of it that was the only reason... and it worked well for me... ... and the problem with the shim was not bottom end was top end actually.... it was just slouch going down the back stretch... the JP3 was the last pipe i tested... i never said the JP3 had to much bottom end... the 9901 gave me a tad better run times...

and just to be clear Neal... i responded to Lil-bror saying the 9901 runs great.. i wasn't comparing it to anything.. i was just agreeing with him.. so i am a bit confused with your post...

Here in Denmark and many other contries, we have to use EFRA approved pipes http://news.efra.ws/fileadmin/news/2...of%20March.pdf

If the 9901 haven't got enough bottom, the new Novarossi 2084 should do the trick.

I had read, that the re-10 pipe should be similar to the Ninja 2042 and re-11 is a copy of Axe Rossi 2050 (thanks Neobart )

It's a tough call for the US guys to suggest a pipe the European guys must run. I've seen Neal's JL run excellent with the JP3. It's a different animal and doesn't resond well running pipes other engines work well with. Not sure if you'll find a nova pipe that works well on it. When i bought a nova fms i borrowed friends pipes and spent a whole day at the track doing nothing but pipe testing. All the pipes i had were close, but the 9901 was terrible on that engine. And my fms was modified. And the pipe that works on a stock JL won't be so good with a Clockworks JL. The Clockworks JL has to be the best value as engines are concerned. Although the Clockworks B5 is one bad engine with fuel mileage as good if not better than the best. If the 2058 pipe is on your list i heard from a reliable source it's like a quiet 2013 which is the best pipe for the B5.
