Drag, Drag, Drag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This stuff gets too serious sometimes. A drag race for braging rights would be cool. Even though power dosent win the race at least is shows who is stronger while going down a straight or taking on a 20 foot gap.
Let'm rip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOLY..I go away for the day, and the thread gets intensely interesting
There's no doubt that the JL is great when you consider the price point. I'd venture to say that Ofna could have jacked the price up and it would still have been money well spent.
Is it the same quality as a Nova..no..we all know that, but the casting is gorgeous, and it certainly looks OS-ish in quality. Would I rather have one OS Speed or two JL , I'll take two please.

Will it hang with a Nova..yes, I think it will hang with others as well..this engine is turning heads at our track too. It's also butter-smooth and tunes great. Will it last as long as a Nova.. I doubt it, but time will tell if it lasts, mine only has two gallons on it, but I'll find out.
Being that it's modded and running at a higher level than it was designed to run, I will take certain precautions. I plan on putting a new con-rod and ceramic rear bearing, and a new front bearing for good measure. I'd be foolish not to. It's a great mill, and deserves it's props.
I'll get to run against my my good buddy's( and u know who u are Billy
) FMS quite a bit I'm sure this race season. He and I are highly competitive, and we get along great, so I know it'll be a blast

who you kidding? Do you have any idea how awesome it is to not have to break in an engine!!!!???? I could care less if its modded or not, but give me hand lapping every time brohemian Rapsody
If i was Mark Popadockolis and I got free engines and someone to break them in for me, I would be running stock speeds also

Maximo,
I completely understand where you are coming from about the drag race.
It's for fun and just bragging rights.I too would like to see that race between the JL and the FMS.With all that said and done,I have $5 Paypal ready on the FMS.Lets make it happen,of course, for fun,sh!ts and giggles.

No problem Off Road God.
I ran my Clockwork modded JL .21 with RB K9 carb/7mm restrictor. JP-3 pipe and O.S. P6 plug with 25% Byrons Pro Blend. I tuned the lowend a little differently this weekend, larger idle gap with richer lowend. All I can say is WOW, engine was insane! Even with Losi's steel flywheel and light clutch setup the front end was bouncing around wanting to come up in the air. I can't imagine how the engine would have been with a aluminum flywheel and heavier springs.
I was happy with the O.S. P6 but I will be trying a P5 when it comes in at the shop this week. The P6 was a little cold, my engine was a little lazy to start up. P5 should be the ticket like Maximo mentioned. I pitted at the 8:45 minute mark. My engine temps were cold (below 200*), I could have leaned the top end more but I didn't feel the need to.
I raced one of my local track's season opener, trophy race. I qualified 4th and finished 3rd on the same lap as the leader, only about 6 secs behind 2nd place. First place was Anthony Mazzara (Team Losi 100% factory sponsored), 2nd place was the "track king". Anthony was on fire, he TQ'd buggy and truggy and won both A mains.
Here is a bad video (camera man is now fired) of the Amain truggy. There are two flourscent yellow truggies, mine has a darker front. Watch the 2:38 mark when I hit the straight the front almost comes off the ground!
