Do you guys recommend the #5 plug for the non-pro version of your B5 as well?

Of course.

I have #5's and Odonnel 97t's. I really can't tell a difference to be honest. I am sure some people can.

It doesn't always come to a strong consisten idle. I set the idle stop as recommended, and I just tune the low end needle to try to get a consistent idle. When I have the lsn where I want it, the engine revs fluctuate.

Initially, I thought it was slightly starved for fuel, but when I richen the lsn, the truck has much less snap out of the corners.

The top end is good, and the temps are around 225-245.

Have you tried richening the LS for instance 1-2 hours and leaning the HS 1-2 hours to offset? In essence by doing this you are just changing the needle balance slightly.

Yes we do. Your also going to find that our plugs have a tendency to last quite a bit longer than the OD plugs too. It's not unusual to get 1-2 gallons on a plug before you change one.

That sounds awesome, thanks Ron! I gotta get me some #5s! I've been running OS ultra hots in my B5. They haven't been bad, but I think I would be better off with what's recommended.

Yeah, I tried that, but will work on it a little more this weekend. I know I'm close. I'll also try a Werks #5 plug. The OD plugs didn't seem to last that long.

I'll keep you updated. Thanks for the great support!

Hey quick question as I am interested in a B5 - I thought it was a buggy engine but see a heap of posts here referring to it in truggies?

Has it got too much bottom end for a buggy?

I race a very short track (max straight about 90ft) and am a poor driver so need the punch out of my poorly negotiated corners so I want a bottom end oriented motor but not one with what most people consider too much bottom for a buggy

If its a very short track with not a lot of high rpm, you may want to consider the B2 as well.

A B5 is not too much for a buggy.

Can someone tell me if the b5 pro parts like crank n sleeve rod is interchangable with say the b5 b6 b6 pro n b2? Basically I'm just wondering if I can change these parts out if something were to happen to the original parts inside. Thanks.

Most of the parts are interchangeable.

Can you list 2-3 things on ur b2/5/6 that won't work? I don't wanna hurt anything if I were in the future going to try anything.

Also is the b3 parts at all interchangeable with those engine I listed above?

I know carbs, cranks, back plates buttons, heads,rods....all interchange but dont know about the p/s and crank case..
