Lets make it with Ceramics bearings, Lighweight and lower cooling head (keep same design), Black case and a extra restricor, 6.0mm? And lets give some credit to KORTZ for all the testing that he do, he's been good to WERKS. ;)

Some kind of team line or Kortz edition would be cool. I am probably with the majority that these motors do not need anything performance wise. I would dig a black case though.

Thanks for the great support Ron.

No offense but last names are like ......, everyone has one!!!

How bout an add on kit, called 'The Werks'. You can order a burger w/ all the fixins', why not order a 'B5 w/ The Werks'? Included in the kit would be a medium clutch, a #5 plug, ceramic rear bearing, knife edged con rod, and a 6mm venturi. Production of the engines would remain the same, just add another box under the shrink wrap and offer the items at a reduced cost vs. buying them all separately.

BTW, Hopkins and Kortz are 2 of my favorite last names:D

Thats a great idea and the play on words is awesome! I sill like the idea of a black case and even a black pipe;)

I Have Done This To Other Engines And Brake Calipers It Holds Up Very Good.
Take Cooling Head Off Use A Little Tape
Gloss Black Ceramic Brake Caliper Paint.

Black case, DLC Crank and ceramics. You know what else I would really like Ron, a fuel gun that actually "werks" with your logo on it :lol: I've seen many bring up the price point of the motors, I don't think Ron is looking to drastically change the line just more along the lines of adding some additional stuff if there is a demand for it.

A fuel gun would actually be sweet. The ones that work are over $100 and the ones that are cheap suck. Maybe you can make one that Werks. :D

Ron I have to say I have a hard time saying that anything needs to be changed. Maybe a Worlds Update kit. Essentially being a add-on kit with everything that Jeremey used in Pattaya.

I have people ask all of the time what plugs, pipe, restrictor, and clutch. Maybe make several add on kits that all have their own benefits.

2013-5/6 plug- venturis and your reccomended clutch

2057-5/6 plug- venturis and your reccomended clutch

2058-5/6 plug- venturis and your reccomended clutch

Just a thought.

Ron PM me when you get a chance please.

This has got me thinking although this is about pipes and not engines but what the heck, why polished and not hard anodized. Have always liked the look of the hard anodized pipes, I'm not much for the bling factor but many are. Just thinking out loud.

Lol, we did use a B6 at the worlds but the only thing that we did was put one of our standard ceramic rear bearings on it (which we sell) and a 2058 pipe set (which we also sell). So it was not what I would consider anything special. There is not much point me sending you a PM asking you to PM me back lol, so if you have something to discuss feel free to send me one.

For the rest you guys all have some really good ideas, as mentioned please keep them coming. The fuel gun was an interesting idea and und you guys are right, most of the ones that are out are not that great. Redvet79, I personally think that cases that are simply painted black do not look good so I can tell you it definitely will not be that lol!

trickedout 02-06-2011 11:47 PM

I agree on the multiple carb inserts. Maybe its just me but i never liked the fuel guns.. Tried them a few different times and for me im way faster pitting with a bottle, and im prolly the fastest pit guy at the track. Also i dont see ANY fuel guns at our track with a weekly crowd of 60+

Pin2Win 02-07-2011 05:18 AM

Ron new idea based off of what everybody is saying.

Kortz edition B6/2058 or 2057 with multiple carb restrictors and just change the head to reflect KORTZ EDITION B6. Should be able to produce this with not a huge increase in price.

Also the "the Werks" is a classic idea. You could include a clutch B5/B6 and pipe of your choice for a little less than you could buy all the pieces seperately.

Just ideas Ron and its is great to see you asking these questions. Now one for you what do you think would sell or be something you would like to see hit the market? You wont get any better feed back anywhere than right here and people would really enjoy the feeling that they had a hand in helping a new product or package come out.:D

jonw 02-07-2011 07:34 AM

I really like the fuel gun idea.

Semple 02-07-2011 07:52 AM

Whatever you can do for about $250. A huge part of the charm of the Werks engines is still the fact that you can spank a high end engine at half the price. So, make it half the price of an O.S. Speed, but with the ability to spank it... which you can pretty much already do with the B5/6.
