Hi Ed,
Are these engines being manufactured in Taiwan or Malaysia? Also, how will the material quality hold up? Hopefully the rod will hold up better in the JS's than they did in the Go Techs (shelve Go Tech's, not EBmods). Good luck with your new venture! |
Engine sure does look cool.

The JS ran flawless all weekend.. I see alot of potential with this engine, as I have barely scratched the surface with setup, and it's already awesome. :)

JS Engine First Outing
Hey guys...
I just wanted to post my experience with JS engine from this past weekend's Pro Series race at Blue Diamond. To start off with, I've been running a EB Full Modded Ninja JX the past couple months. I absolutely love that engine and have nothing bad to say about it other than it's probably a little touchy and can be difficult to drive on loose surfaces. Dropping a JS engine in, and it being a sample (not a production engine), I was a little skeptical on pulling out a JX. I have to say, I couldn't be more happy that I put that engine in my car. Setup was in my 8ight 2.0B... Drake and Truhe's normal clutch setup with steel flywheel, 7mm restrictor, and a Dynamite 086 pipe. To my big surprise, the very first tank on the track with Ed timing, we got 9:50 before it ran out of gas. That was with the engine big time rich. We didn't get to do another timed run after tuning as practice was picking up and traffic was heavy. The engine is super super smooth and very easy to drive. I know it made me faster cuz the car was much easier to handle. I was lucky enough to get to run against Billy Fischer and we ran head to head all weekend long. Billy's best run only beat me by 5 seconds on the clock and we hot lapped within .008 seconds of eachother. The engine can run with the best. I qualified 2nd on the grid behind Billy, but unfortunately didn't get to finish the main. I had a carbon clutch shoe break causing the clutch to seize. :flaming: The JS that I ran was just a Race Prepped engine. It also has over 100 dyno runs on it and I'm sure some of those pulls have seen over 40k rpm. It's also not modded in any way shape or form. It's the basic way the engine would come out of the package. I cannot wait to test an engine that's fully modded. Sorry for rambling guys. I'm pumped about the new engine and Ed is working his tail off to make sure the final product is perfect. You will not be disappointed. |

motor
If it is made in Taiwan it is made by GO or STS if you look at the carb slide close it is gold like the new GO's but if you look at the case it is not a rebadged engine.

JS IS A SEPERATE COMPANY MAKING DIFFERENT MOTORS THAT EB IS IMPORTING. |
[QUOTE=megasaxon;6203472]well the 'gold' carb slide was a feature that Ed came up with, for GO, so maybe THAT'S why its there. Its already been said that its not a GO or an STS. My Reedy engine is made in Taiwan, does that mean its made by Go or STS? Hell no, design in the US and manufactured in Taiwan by Thunder Tiger. Why does a motor from Taiwan have to be made by a company you already know about? New motor companies never show there faces anymore?
JS IS A SEPERATE COMPANY MAKING DIFFERENT MOTORS THAT EB IS IMPORTING.[/QUOT you can tell it is not a Thunder Tiger but I think your wrong. Do you know how much it costs to produce a Micro Motor from the grond up? Alot more than they will make. |

Factory web site... www.jsracing-model.com but not much info yet. This is a new engine factory that the GO factory introduced me to before the Motorama event. As I expressed my interest in importing my own engine line for 2010. So JS and myself have been working on this engine ever since... It takes a very long time to draw, machine, test, re-draw, re-machine, test when making a new engine. So please be patient as we prepare for production on the final product I will be posting all the spec's and pic's. I rest my case.... |
