I told you that little P5 works good. That was my primary engine last season and it worked perfect all season long. Thats why I am going back to the P5 this year as well. I have several P5XL's and XLT's coming from Novarossi so I can get people the performance and runtimes of the Plus4 at a cheaper price, while still retaining the long life that the P5's and Novarossi built their reputation on. The P5 in my opinion is still Nova's benchmark engine. The Plus 4 is the future but the P5 is still just as competative with a little work:nod:

P5XLT. Sweet. I just found my official GRP replacement. :D Let the good tymes roll. Let us know how they compare to the P5 when U get them in.

They should run great since they are a P5 with a turbo plug head button. I run the P5XL which is the standard plug version. No difference between the two, just plug preference is the only decision to make.

I found a difference between the turbo and standard plug... I was pitting recently and the drivers engine was running very poorly it kept flaming out and we tried tunning and finally decided to change the plug well it was a reg plug and in the heat of changing it quickly it was a rookie mistake on my part but I left the old copper washer on and the new plug had a new copper washer on... And then there were 2. Of course it still ran horrible and kept flaming out. We changed the plug again and found the extra washer. He still ended up 5th not bad fir all those issues. All I'm saying is a turbo plug would not have had the extra washer issue, rookie move on my part but it could happen to anyone but no washer well you get my point.

The Nova R7 rod might fit and I believe the Go Tech rods will work as well. You may want to ask around to verify the Go Tech rod but I'm am pretty sure I heard they work. I know they fit on Rossi's and if the R7 will fit, then the Go rod has to fit but you never know:lol:

What about the new ninja rod?

PowerHouse 07-27-2009 10:34 AM

Not sure, I would have to measure it up and since the Ninja has a .8mm shorter stroke, it may be different but can't confirm it until I measure it.

wassup fellas ....on the r7 rod ..i dont believe it will work ....i had told a guy on the grp thread to try it based on what i had heard ...he tried it and it doesnt fit or work ...sux the grp rods are slim to none and slim left the building

Yes, the R7 rod was confirmed "no fitment".So that means the go rod will not fit also.
So basically if the stroke of two engines are the same, all you have to do is find the correct diameter of the bushing bore to fit the piston pin and crank pin, correct???
Someone help find this d*%n replacement rod please...

Frank L 07-27-2009 10:11 PM

I think the grp's are up in smoke (no pun inteended) well maybe a little. It's to bad they were good engines very fuel efficent.
