anyone knows which one better between Turbo S6 and S7
use with Sidewinder 25% nitro and temp outside around 32 C/90 F

My Words may not count , but if you still want to run the same combo Should try adding a shim .i had same issue with a nova adding .1 shim gave about 40 sec more .

I'm not a big fan of the S7 plug unless you're running really high nitro, low head clearance and hot ambient temps. I'd go with a 6, or maybe even a 5.

Don't take any more advice from whoever made that comment. Any one of those engines (including Sirio) will last equally long if you treat them well. Only an immature fanboy would make a stupid comment like that. Having said that, don't be overly concerned about which engine you buy among those you mentioned. They're all exceptional and the right tune, clutch set-up and driving will make a much bigger difference than the subtle differences in each engine's power curve.

that sounds good thank you for your advise. I will pick up two of them and sent one of them to Murnan modified. I need some horsepower cause the 8 scale nats are this year.:tire::)

Just in case you suggest it, I have made sure the idle is not too low.(in fact I make sure it's a little bit high to compensate for this problem)

I've tried richening up the bottom end but then the engine will not idle well. To be honest I'm stumped! I've been racing for over 10 years so I know a little bit about engines but these Sirios are just too hard to tune and keep going!
Yes, they are cheap but that means nothing when you loose confidence in the tune

Help anyone!!!!

Lean your low speed and lower your idle. I had that problem thats what I did

Would anybody happen to know if the piston&sleeve form the capricorn cl-9 .21 onroad motor are interchangeable with the sirio cl7r sti. Team epic is no help what so ever. We need a new sirio suppler ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!:flaming: it is nice when you call about a certain engine when the people that pick up the phone know something about the products they sell and not just how to log-in product #s and act like they are happy to greet your call.

hey guys,

i am thinking buying a sirio xxx vk but i have a couple of questions to make
1. How is the power curve in par with piccos? I am using picco engines and they are great, however i would like a more linear power curve
2. Can i still use picco plugs with the xxx, in case i cant find sirio plugs? And which type is the best?for piccos i have found the 6 cold to be the best for my purpose.
3. How is reliability?
4. Both bearings are ceramic? i know rear bearing is, but i am not sure about the front.
5. With picco and 2607 pipe, i can easily make runtime, whats the case with xxx and 2653 pipe?

1. ? Sirio XXXV is Faster than Picco Evo 3
2. Picco turbo Plugs Will Work in the Sirio (Picco plugs and Sirio plugs are quite possibly identical)
3. I Have had no Problems With Reliabilty though it is hard to tune when you first break it in.
4. The Sirio XXXV has both ceramic bearings. But the XXXVk (with the 2653 pipe) only has a rear ceramic bearing.
5. I have used the Picco Evo 3 with a skyline VR12 pipe and the Sirio XXXVk (with the 2653). The Sirio runtime Isnt ass long as the Evo 3 with the skyline but it's still good.

What i meant with 1) is that piccos have a very strong bottom, which in some cases is difficult to manage.
I know you can fine-tune this with pinions, centax, or even with exponential tune in the radio, but when i drove
the same car with a nova based engine, i really liked how linearly the power was delivered.
Anyways, piccos are excelent engines for me, but i ll try the sirio and post results.:nod:

The 2607 pipe is part of the reason for the crazy bottom end. I have run the XXX sirio with the 2611 pipes (both the legal and illegal version.. which I think became the 2653) as well as the IDM version of the EVO 3 and EVO4. The newer 2651 picco pipe really smoothed out the power delivery of the picco engine. It does seem to run hotter with the new pipe but it makes very usable power and still has good runtime.

The Sirio engine is marginal on runtime but it is possible (I have also run the Orion Alpha ABI with the sirio pipes). I make runtime with the Orion engine, but it isn't as efficient as the IDM engines.

IMHO, the Sirio engines act much more like Novas, but with even more top end.

My experience is, that the fuel consumption lies somewhere between the Picco and the Nova.

Quality wise they are excellent.

the truth is i havent tested the 2651 pipe from picco, maybe
things are better with it. Btw, which pipe gives you more
runtime?2611 or 2653?
