Thanks for posting the pic Lou. I was too lazy.....

You and Brendan going to qld?

Scott Fisher 07-01-2009 08:54 PM

Great.. the new engine from Sirio. Problem for us in the USA is our sirio distributor (Trinity/Epic). I really doubt they are even going to import the onroad engines and I shudder to think about the pricing. I will stick with the IDM and Orion Alpha ABI engines.

That's funny, Trinity always was a problem in the States!! Remember when they had the exclusives on Novarossi and Picco at the same time and as the icing on the cake also for Sanyo and Panasonic??

Good ol' Ernie.

Here in Europe, you have to buy Sirio engines in Italy, where they are dirt cheap.
Our German distributor is a 110% buggy guy and has no clue about onroad engines.

What do you think about the ABI / Sirio engines?

They are very expensive over here. Novarossi niveau and up...

Too be honest with you I haven't tried the ABI engine but I have high hopes for it as I like my XXX engine. I will be trying it out next weekend. I like my IDM Evo4 better than the XXX but I am always willing to try something that is reasonably priced. I don't get my stuff for free from Kyosho America, but they treat me very well so the engine is quite inexpensive.

Does anyone know what's internally different between the XXX and the ABI?

i think that.the crankcase that you have in your avatar have less cooling fins.
but from the xxx i can see difference in the area engine's mounts-front bearing.
they have strength it in there.

about the orion abi one i think that it has a little different crank,
it's not like the old original one but different from the xxx.
maybe someone that using it can telle us more.

blown sv 07-03-2009 01:50 AM

yes , the black crankcase looks the same as the first model xxx , it looks likethe only change now is the timing i think ,to make it better on fuel:):)

GREGORY! 07-03-2009 01:54 AM

like i said.the new case is different.now for timing.i don't know.
maybe it has, maybe it has not...

blown sv 07-03-2009 02:01 AM

im not disagreeing with you !, i was just saying the crankcase is the same as the first model xxx's ,as i have a couple of them
and yes the timing has been altered!

GREGORY! 07-03-2009 02:05 AM

altered?where exactly?:D:D

blown sv 07-03-2009 02:32 AM
