Warranty? Really?

Yeah really! Not a long one, only 30 days, but 30 days is 30 days, he even warranties his alpha engines for 3 months but...... you need to buy his fuel and I think it is mixed sidewinder and you have to pay for his break-in service which is like $100 but if it breaks it is a free replacement

Monty, I know you are not a losi guy but my damn truggy kills rear diffs. I know they are shimmed correctly because i do the same on my losi buggy and havent lost one yet and i used to run it onroad with monster grip. Today i got lucky and finished third but blew both pinion bearings in the last 3 minutes. I think at 1/2 the price i will run my buggy diffs in the truggy, but if you have any suggestions on how to check the shimming i would greatly appreciate it

I have ran a Losi for about two years now and never had any issues with diff gears after switching to the alum. inserts. Shim until it's notchy and check play often! When I did have a issues in the beginning it was because I was shimming to loose also using plastic inserts and the plastics get hot when pinion and ring gear start going bad and everything gets looser which causes failures IMO. If you strip any gears always replace your gearbox and inserts unless they're the alum. ones. One more thing a worn diff case or diff bearing slack/play will also cause problems IMO. I use the HD cases with the DE plastic pin holders and alum. cross pins also all the other TLR alum. drivetrain parts (axles, diff pins, and etc.) and I get much longer life from all drivetrain parts now. Which surprised me cause the alum. is softer but it's lighter and makes for less stress/wear and stops better too! I know shut-up this is not the Losi thread! Just trying to help another Losi guy and stand up to haters! LOL!

Just to give a update on my Fusion x3lfm (no ceramics). After almost 5 gal. I have fell in love with this engine and sold my BTT because I like this mill better in everyway except the LCG head and new crankcase on the BTT. Anyway I run mine with a Losi RE12 (9901 want to be), OD 77t/99t, and a 7 carb insert with great results I pit at 10min at all tracks I race and can honestly say I have not had a single flame-out or any other engine based issue YET after months of racing with x3lfm HES engine! I am a maintenance freak so that helps also but if I could drive as good as it has ran I would have won most races I have attended this season. I did win a couple and ended up 2nd in our local points series this fall at Phil Hurd Raceway in Savannah, Georgia so I am very pleased with the mill and if your looking for smooth bottom(lol), awesome runtime, and screaming top at a great price try a HES tuned x3l! Not to mention he is a awesome guy to deal with and will help you in anyway he can IMO! No I am not a paid actor just a HES fan!(LOL) Oh yeah we hold the Colonel's Winter Classic here in Savannah on Jan. 11-12 and we had 150 entries last time and have almost 200 already on RCSIUP so if your anywhere close come join us at a awesome event with new clay, layout, electrical, etc. etc.!

Want to wish the Houston family a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.

Hi Monty!

Merry Christmas.

I wonder if you could help me out a bit. I am in need of a large diamater sleeve for the +4 2010 team enigne or the BTT sylinder/sleeve. If you pull apart alot of engines, can you switch one set out with another one? I really need a sylinder with a big bore.

thanks!

ummm prettty difficult to find a sleeve that will work for ya Anders , it would be a much safer bet to buy a new p/s set bro

i actually do have a couple sleeves here but i highly doubt you have the tools to measure your piston accurate enough for me to find a proper fitting one , butttt if all else fails it can be sent to Ray at rayaracing to get properly sized , the man is unbelieveable when it comes to this sh!t , fareal

Hi Monty.

I see that i have been inaccurate. I buy the Piston/sleeve and rod for what the price is if it is new. I thought maybe you disasembled 15-20 engines at a time and if you found a set that is "big bore" i could buy it and you took a new piston/sleeve rod set from nova and used instead.

I am testing a coupple of things just for fun but it went straigt to hell.... that is why i need a sylinder with a large bore. I am trying to find a hone that would work to test that but that is difficult also..

IS this accurate enough? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mitutoyo-Dig...item231c1a62cb

Ok, i see my english is just crap... :-)

Yes, what i need is sleeves. Bigones as i am experimenting with some things on a few pistons. I screwed up and they just got to big and i can not lap them anymore down in size. I ordered the Micrometer i showed you and i`ll take some messurements of the pistons i have, so lets see just see what comes up.

Have you tried to honing a sleeve to get the bore lager? It is not so easy to lap a sleeve as it may have several different diameters
