Ok guys its time for just allittle feedback..More feedback to come when it hits the track with a race tune.

To start off I have a hott mod p5xs that runs awsome to compare to.

Ok so I bought a p5xlt and sent it to monty for his tune including the +4c crank,17011 bearing, and ceramic rear bearing.

Im at about 1 gallon mark and its realy starting to come alive and at this point already feels faster then my p5sx its alot smoother and realy puts the power to the ground!I run the exact setup with both the engines but the hes p5xlt sounds totaly differant,it just sounds and feels very strong, alot stronger then the hott mod p5xs.I can not wait for this thing to drop its nuts,it will be a total beast with smooth power from bottom to top!

Do not be afraid to get this combo for a buggy because it just feels right at home in one!Very smooth! Thanks Monty

you guys are awesome!!!!

the p5xlt with 15007t ore 15009t or 15010 with silicone filled crank is very nice for buggy , great runtimes and good smooth power .

Kijana that kinda hurt reading that

i hope you are 1,000,000% satisfied with these engines when you get them back bro , keep me posted and make sure the a.f. situation is dialed ;)

Is there any difference between Nova shortstroke and longstroke shims? I have them right next to each other and cannot tell a difference. Can I run shortstroke shims in my longstroke engine? They seem to fit just fine.

as far as i know.. Novarossi only have 2 engines with different strokes.... the toro shims will not fit any other nova engines... but if you run the regular nova shims.. lets say the plus4 on the bonito.. they may be a slight leak in the chamber unless you put it as the first shim against the button head itself... all in all.. nova do not have a short stroke engine.. they have a long stroke and a extra long stroke ( bonito/ toro).. but i may be wrong....

RB had a square stroke engine once upon a time .. not sure if they still do.....

the only short stroke engine i know off is the Vspec VZB.. and other makes of it...

Thank you very much for the reply. I think you are right, the only reason why I even asked the question was because of a labeling discrepancy and different part numbers which distinguish between shortstroke shims for N21bf or similar and longstroke shims for P5 and similar. It could just be a parts number/name oversight but I figured I would ask the question anyways.

The shims I want to use are labeled for a N21R and I will be putting them on a P5XLT. If my memory serves me correctly I think they may actually share some parts like case and the like so I don't think it should be a problem.

are you talking about old sbk shims?

if the i.d. is close then it will be fine , do not use the shim that is bigger than the o.d. of the head button as the shim up aginst the sleeve but rather up against the head button itself or sandwiched between the others

n21r is same bore x stroke as most nova engines 16.26mm x 16.8mm

the older n21 2001bf is different though if thats what you are thinking
