Please note I use to run nitro about three years ago, so sorry for any trivial questions to get me back up to par. I have been running electric 1/8th for these past three years.

Is the motor I am picking up pretty good? I also see a sever port version of it as well. Should I get the seven port instead or should I be good with the 4 port?

I glancing through this thread and reading about the Bonita and new plus 4. How much are those and when will they be free? And please feel free to drop me any kind of info for these motors u feel i should know.

Thx

plus 21-4c team is a killer engine !!! best buggy engine period IMO , i just cant ever take it out of my buggy , i guess i like it ;)

the new plus 4 is pretty much the same engine internally , minor exhaust change but the lowered the head by a HUGE amount , could be good or bad , we will find out here shortly after they get ran for a while . most of the changes on the plus 21-4btt are cosmetic except for the price :D:(

trust me when i say none of the new engines will make any of the so called "old" engines obsolete ;)

i answered all your questions about plug , nitro % and all that jazz in your original thread you started

Hey Montey I have a Nova 821B if I send it to you could you take a look at it and see if you can do anything with it as far as getting it to run and keep a good steady idle. It needs a good carb on it so if you have one laying around maybe you could through one on there for me. Of course I will pay you for it and any work that you do to it. This mill is very strong I just can't get it to keep a steady idle. I'm not sure if it's the carb or the rod that's shot. Just let me know what you think. Thanks

Is the bryon 3000 30%?

I thought I read somewhere the plus four max nitro was 25%? Is that not correct. And what's the difference between the bryon 3000 and pro race?

Thx

look at it this way , you know when you rent a trailer from u-haul and it says 45mph all over it ;):D get the picture now ;)

byrons race 3000 is 30% nitro 11% oil package , best for engine break ins , byrons pro driver is 30% nitro and 9% lube package , racing fuel!!

i dont recommend break ins with pro driver :D

I see. I'm mostly club racer and occasional big races. Shall I just do the 3000 for the life of the motor for longer life span.

that would be my recommendations

and DO NOT break the engine in blubbering rich , thats even worse then grossly over lean , well almost

heat engine to 190-210° , i prefer comp heat , start it after you have primed the system by opening carb and blowing into the exhaust pressure line until no more air bubbles go through line , dont be afraid to rev it up a lil , keep it running , you will have to lean the needles a little and turn the idle up a touch , use a quality temp probe such as exergen brand (important) tune as to maintain a constant temp between 190-210° , unplug comp heat and let idle for 5 min , engine will be a little erratic at first but will settle in after a bit , clear the engine out every minute or so .

repeat this process three times on the bench with head covered , make to sure to pull head cover off during cool downs , place piston in a free movement area (some refer to this as BDC)

after 3 x 5 min heat cycles do 3 x 10min heat cycles on the ground in the car at 190-210° , head uncovered (unless ambient temp is below 50°) and run around gently , dont baby it but do not rod on it , above all refrain from blipping the throttle as it is referred to .

after 3 x 10 min heat cycles do 3 x 30 min. hest cycles , the last one of these can even be done on the track but remember to keep a conservative tune , do not rod the engine all the way down the straights , check temps frequently .

from most novarossi engines i would not expect miracles within the first gallon of fuel but the engine will perform well enough to race with , at some point the engine will change tune and go really rich on ya and tune will keep changing for a period of 4-5 tanks of fuel , i call this "dropping the nuts"

when you take the time to take care of your novarossi based engine it will provide you with a long life of trouble free running !!!

remember to make sure your air filter is always up to snuff!!!!

there are a few companies that sell air filter media that i wouldnt use if they paid me , one great bargain and excellent material is answer rc , great filter media , when used in conjuction with the awesome kyosho air filter oil , your filters will stay dirt free and protect your valuable engine !!!

happy motorin ',
Monty

I am about 450 miles from omaha, i grew up in lincoln though.

I am really looking forward to getting out of the cold and snow for a while. Now, the big question is...Do i take my golf clubs or my RC8.... :)
