Are all of the 2013 pipes - whether from Sirio, Werks, or Orion - with the reenforced stingers also the tougher ones with thicker metal or whatever? I know the old ones were pretty shoddy, and then they reenforced the stingers. Just want to make sure that if I buy an Orion 2013 pipe that it's also the newer, tougher kind..

I was gone Fri - Sunday so I haven't had a chance to look at anything until today.

I may have found my issue. The Black oring on the HSN is completely snapped in half http://c456141.r41.cf0.rackcdn.com/i...i/ori82152.jpg

Going to try a B6 Carb (only other motor I have) tonight.

People say that but I never had/have had up to now a problem with the old Sirio 2013.

I still have my old one, which was battered and abused and lasted 15 gallons no problem. Onto my new one which was the version just before the update, and that is also fine, no problems as of yet.

To answer your question, if it has the reinforced stinger, it is the newer "harder" version. 2013 is the best pipe IMO, and it makes the best noise.

In the (g)olden Sirio days everyone ran the 2013 as far as I knew.

Nowadays most of the people running the pipe are Orion or Werks, and the 2058 seems more popular - maybe it's a better pipe, I don't know.

But for me, the 2013 has always been fine for me

I decided to have a bit of fun this past weekend and put the 2012 5 port in my buggy . I knew it was going to be a monster, so i put a 5.5mm restrictor in it. Even with such a small restrictor, it tuned up soo easy. Motor still made awesome power everywhere, and even made well over 10 minutes runtime!

I've scanned most of the forum looking for factory carb settings for the alpha .24, but it seems the only people who know them are the ones in Italy who actually built the carbs.

Anyone have an idea for the settings? even a ballpark?
Thanks

I have a Sirio .24 TXT1R which is comparable to the orion .24. From factory both needles were flush. In tuned setting both my needles are in from flush. Bottom needle more then top needle. Im running 0.7mm idle gap and sirio buggy #6 plug.

Tip: i have tested the 2013 pipe on this engine. Very good bottom but there was something missing overall. Then i tried the 2058 pipe and that was a very good combination. Better on fuel aswell

Thank you ambros. While browsing for the carb settings I read that people were really liking the 2013 with the .24. I'm running an 086 right now, and it made my SC8 feel way over geared, even with an 18t clutch, top end is crazy. I'm probably going to order a 2058 and see how that goes. Thanks again for the information

The factory setting for the CRF 5-port .21 is:
LSN: 4 1/4 turns out
HSN: 5 1/2 turns out

I'd assume the .24 has the same carb and similar factory settings. I could be wrong though.

But as already someone else said, if it's already broken in setting both to flush would give you a good starting point for further tuning.

Probably not. The US-spec was a Picco based motor. Cody king is LM motor.

Below is the Ebay add desctiption. Let me know what you think of this. I ended up winning both of these for $232.50. The tracking says I will get them on Tuesday. Let me know if anyone has had this type of problem or what you think the problem is. The piston looks to be TDC in the pinch, hopefully that is why they feel it won't turn over. They are both 3 port.

Matt, this is why I probably won't sell one to you.

Quote from Ebay listing:

"This auction is for a lot of (2) UNUSED Orion CRF Buggy 21 Racing Nitro Engines for PARTS or REPAIR!
These engines do not appear to have been used, however, we believe these are defective! These are being sold for PARTS or REPAIR ONLY! Neither of these engines will turn over! We have not disassembled these engines to pinpoint the issue(s)! Also, the carburetor slide on the loose carburetor does not slide in and out easily. The other carburetor remains sealed in the manufacturer's packaging. These do not appear to have been mounted, and neither engine has a noticeable blemish. These ought to be of use to someone with the same engine, or a bit of hobby/nitro engine experience.

This auction includes exactly and only what is shown in the photos above. These both look like the Factory Tuned version (ORI80691), but one box was labeled (ORI80690). The condition of the engines is shown in the photos above. There MAY be a light scuff somewhere on one of the engines, since they are no longer sealed in the manufacturer's packaging. Refer to the photos above for details. These are sold AS-IS. Please read our return policies before placing a bid".
