Any thoughts about the new Team Orion ProGlow #4 plug that was just released?
If I read their press release correctly, it seems that Orion has changed their standard/default plug recommendation from #6 to this new #4, which makes me a bit confused. I was under the impression that the cooler #5 was for break-in, longer runs, easier tune, etc and #6 for normal use. The new #4 (if the numbers still mean the same) should be even hotter then #5, which makes me think it's not optimal for normal use? On the other hand Tebo apparently used this during Neo12. I get the feeling I'm missing something here. Anyone care to enlighten me?
I was about to order a pack of #6 for my CRF 5P Tebo Edition engine, should I go with the new #4 instead?

So are people leaning more towards the Orion CRF 3 port or 5 port engine these days?
From what I've read, they both seem to make good power with good torque, but get the 3 port if you want the 10+ minutes of runtime.
I run at Revelation Raceway regularly. Looking for good power, but more importantly, I would like good fuel economy.
Cody runs there regularly, I should go see which motor he is running
It seems like the team drivers are winning more big races these days with the 3 port.

I'm from Singapore and I can confirm that it is a bogus company. First of all, the number in Singapore start with 6 (other than the country code 65), if it's mobile it will either be 8 or 9.
Second the shop address that the joker stated is actually a hair care shop. http://www.fareast-plaza.com/searchResult.asp
I know Far East Plaza well enough as that is where one of my fav LHS located and where I get all my Hudy stuff - Hobbylink http://www.hobbylink.com.sg/ so I would know if there is such a good deal, especially for OS Speed engine lol.
I've already reported this site.

If you think the top pros run a stock motor your kidding yourself. I was at silver State this weekend and watched first hand tebo and his pit crew wrenching on his motor because the pinch was soooo tight. His pit man had to hand tebo the car up in the drivers stand because he could not get the piston out of the pinch. i watched tebo pry on the motor with a BIG flathead and I thought for sure it was broke. It was crazy to watch and its hard to explain but it is no ordinary Orion motor off the shelves. I later talked to someone close to that team that said his motor's are all unique and hand matched with a TRIPLE pinch job. The guy said they were around $1000 and not just a joe blow can get one. They do not use just a regular starter box as well. I watched another Pro driver starting his car and his starter box spun so hard and fast that it engaged his clutch. It was awesome. Orions are great motors but people dont think you are actually getting the same more tebo runs...

Just helping a friend tune his Alpha. The HSN will turn 1/2 turn on it's own when revving in the box. Will new O-rings help with this problem. Kinda off considering we were told this engine has 1/2 gallon on it.

Yes new o-rings will help. That is not a total indication that is has more or less than a half gallon. Altough you will never truely know how much fuel has been ran through it and whether it was run a 290 or 200 or 160....just impossible to tell when buying used, But the orings could have just rotted if the motor sat for a while or might just have been loose from the box.. either way new o-rings are cheaper and will surely solve your problem. For a temporary fix use some silicon gasket maker on the old orings, it will keep a seal but make them tighter.

My son and I run the 5 Port JTP motor and went 12:30 on run time and temp was 215 at the end of a 30min Main. Ten min stops easy. With no stuck piston as that is not wanted by any Pro. That's why Paul King says it takes about a gallon for Orion engines to break in.

All that said, Jared is a team driver, he gets paid to race for Team Orion, part of his job is to race experimental engines. Alot of the components in these engines make it into the production motors we all run today. In other words what Jared races from race to race may not be the engines we can currently buy, but I would bet money, it'll be the engine you can buy next year..
