Default MG66

Well got my mg66 back from Rex the other day and ran it today for the first time. Ran it around slow for 3 tanks only because it still had a good bit of mech pinch. Then started to lean it out. The Rex magic started to come to life after 6 complete tanks still just a tad rich temp 245 good smoke it was HOOKED UP pulling front wheels about 1" at the start of the straightaways.
13min run time with more in the bank.
I'll tell you what i am super happy. Running mbx6t 13t pinion 44t spur and plenty of bottom end. Novarossi ceramic bearings front and rear.

Thank You Rex
And Thanks to Bigmatt for the referral.

I also turned down some parts and replaced some.

Now that it is nice outside it is time to experiment! Trying some different idea's for mileage. I make and sell exhaust restrictors (seperate piece)but never really liked using the longer spring to hold the header on. This one is internal (Exhaust pic)

I wanted to test it and then I figured I would just mill it out and open it up. After my initial test at Tea's I figured I should race it at Mnrc round 1. I was really suprised how it didn't really drop the top end much. All the air going through these small holes and the thing still kept up with almost everyone on the straight. Fuel mileage was really good, after a 5 min qual the tank was above the seam in the tank on a Losi. We run hot loop and come in for fuel 1 minute before the start and are usually on the track for 7 minutes by the time we finish. I pitted at 10 minutes in the B although the motor went slightly rich at the end and I didn't have much left after the race.
I was still able to clear the back table top at this track. (32 feet with a short runup)

Congrats to Kendall for taking the Mnrc 1/8 buggy, Truggy and Short course championships again this year.

Kendall was running a prototype mod on his truggy motor at the finals and from what I hear it really ripped. (I was bummed I couldn't make it)

I ran my P5 that I sent in for you to pinch this weekend and the motor felt great. It ran perfectly all weekend and had plenty of power. Thanks for fixing this motor up for me. I have probably 10 gallons on it and it's never run this well before.

I'll be sending some more work your way soon.

I have had RW Mods do all our race motors this year, and they have all ripped! Also had Rex do some work on my daughters engine to set it up more for a beginer. We ran the exhaust restrictor also and worked great! Fuel milage was awesome.

Thanks RwMods for a Great 2011!
