tryed the reedy with a 2072 pipe, makes the thing idle for hell, no flame outs, 10.30 run time with a little left in tank 1.5/10, deffently for the heavy finger'd person. has a awesome mid to high rpm range, defently a pipe to consider if your a big sweeping track.

Whats up guys? I just got my reedy .21 for my RC8T and I haven't broken it in yet, still need to order a pipe, but my engine came with an RT3 glow plug.

My question is.....it didn't come with a little washer like other glow plugs, do these not need the little brass washer?

it's a turbo head. The tapered plug is made to seat on the button without a washer.

few tips: if ever shifting or removing the CARB, go easy on the bolts when putting them back in. the case in that area is very soft.

you can basically box tune 85% of the engine once broken in (1gallon +)

if you buy the matching pipe AE says, the engine wont run good untill it gets quite lean, everyone says they are good when hot.

i've run the crap out of mine with a 2072, at 215-220F, and its done 9 gallons, still hauling ass

I have tested the Reedy with a 2035 and a 2039 and i preffered the 2035 over the 2039. But i had 2 gallons on it and sold it to a buddy of mine and he has got 3 on it and it is still going stong. Great motors in my opionion.

Did you test the 2035/2039 in a buggy or truggy?

I ask because I prefer the 2039

Default carb spring

Do I need to put a spring on the throttle part of the carb?
where and how do I put it if I need it?

Just wondering because I have the RC8T RTR PRO .28 engine and it has a small spring that helps close or return the throttle but the reedy engine doesn't have one. Can someone please post a pic of theirs so that I can check it out. Thanks.

We use a hair band. Will pull a carb closed if link comes off yet doesn't put a side load on the barrel. It can cause binding.

Default Break in help...

Alright guys I need some help. I haven't got my 2035 pipe yet but I got anxious to start breaking in my reedy .21, so I installed the pipe that came with my RC8T RTR engine.

Here's the problem.... as soon as I started it, it idled for about 10-15 seconds and then really reved up and I had to shut it off. I started it a couple of times and the same thing, so I closed the idle needle alittle and still nothing.

What is causing this?
Is it my needle settings, or could it be the pipe?
What are stock needle settings for this engine?

I am using reedy glow plug that the engine came with and its in good shape.
30% sidewinder nitro.
new fuel lines.

So I finally gave up. Hopefully someone here can lend a hand.

make sure that everything is sealed up and that the carb is closing all the way. go over all the screws, head, back plate, carb bolts and high speed needle housing.
