I'd love to know where you're getting your number of 48,000rpm. I don't know of any engine that revs out that much.

I have used Speeds, Ninja's, and stock V Spec's. I am now using the Reedy. Using the same gearing, the Reedy is better out of the corners but does suffer a little on the top. Gear up a tooth on the clutch bell and it's a lot better. Still has that smooth bottom end power that doesn't seem to end but transitions nice to a high speed mill. Still doesn't have quite what a V Spec in stock form has, but it's darn close.

Brandon thanks ! I have been doing this for years. I do realize that I don't know it all. There are things we can all learn. When you have the AE team and support behind you it makes it easier to get the most out of a product . They know these things better than I ever will. That is why I asked. Thanks and keep up the great job. I do appreciate you being on here to help.

The only thing I would add is make sure the engine is at BDC when coolng. I preheat my engine with a device a friend makes for the life of the engine. As long as there is power. It heats the engine to over 200 and I don't have to hold it. Engines keep there pinch much longer that way. It's the cold starts that are hard on these engines.

I am wanting to get a couple of these engine's and am wondering if the pipe and header combo from the GRP .28 tuned would be a good choice. I have no place to race so my best option is hopefully making it to motorama 2010.

They work fine. I was running a 2053 GRP pipe for a while, since that was all i had.

I pesonally use the factory team pipe which is a low to midrange pipe on my rc8t whith the 8mm carb restrictor. i run a 14 tooth bell and the 50&the 52 tooth spur. I race at white house hobbies the track is like 145x75? JCP which is 175 x75/ and reo raceway indoor track its like 100x45? the factory team pipe does fine on all three tracks I get 9to 11minute run times. the reedy has greate bottom end but if the straight away is over 145 feet my team mate runs the dynamite o86 top end pipe. we run the same truck and engine. gear to gear threw the middle of the track I am faster but on the long staight"s he is faster. so to answer your question on a small track use your bottom to mid pipe and on the big tracks use your mid to high pipe. the reedy can be a great engine if geard right and clutched right, in my truggy i use 1.1 clutch springs to give me better bottom end snap. in my rc8 buggy i use 1,0 springs to soften the bottom. the engine did take some getting use to,the sound of the reedy at the end of the straightaway is a little soft compared to other enginse but the speed is there.

I thought Brandon Melton said he runs the TT2039 for more top end. He may have to correct me though.
