Hey all, my Reedy Powered RC8T made its track debut today. I freaking LOVE this motor. Power was awesome. All i heard all day was compliments on how awesome it ran. We'll just have to see how long she runs, but so far all looks great. If it can compete with Novarossi's on how long it last i can see this being my Truggy motor favorite for a long time. I used be one of the non-believers, didn't think a .21 was strong enough for a Truggy, but wow was i wrong. If you are on the fence about getting this mill, hop on over it and get it! Only downside right now is availability, but backorder ASAP and you should be able to land one b4 the season is up!

i thought it was the other way more oil equals lower temps

Reedy 121vr

I debuted my 121vr in my RC8B this weekend and was well pleased with it. Idled forever and controllable power curve. Power was good around the track. I used both . .

Odonell 97T and 99T plugs

Sidewinder 30% fuel

AE 2035 pipe

nope less oil = cooler temps

I'm running mine on p3 plugs, Byrons ProDriver 25%, and AE EFRA 2035 pipe. Using 1.1 clutch springs with the truggy, but could prolly run 1.0 springs in a buggy, with alum shoes

And an FYI Amain has 36 of these in stock right now!

mattwoodcraft 07-19-2009 06:07 PM

what run times are you getting in your truggy with this motor ?

I also heard what I wanted to hear today about this engine. My buddy has about a half gallon through his, and it really looked composed out there on the track. It still looked like a tight, new motor, but already we could tell that this thing has some serious bottom.

When I left he was at about 215 and still had a ton of smoke through the whole powerband. I heard someone else mention these things don't sound like other engines, and so far I concur.

He said he got it up to 245 degrees and it really wants to run. He tried to get a good side by side with an EBMods Go but the RC8 it was in kept breaking  . Can't wait to compare this to the V Specs and my Rossi.

Oh yea and I almost forgot, his seems like it wants to idle forever too (even with stock pinch!). He did mention that it had less pinch than usual though...

Are there any more opinions on this engine, since it's been readily available for over a week now?

I've heard a few people not getting the tune their looking for until the temps were up to 260 or more
