OS P3
engine is more nimble to exploid than a Vspec crisp bottom and endless top doesn't get hot 9.12 minutes cruising 8 mins racing ( bigger housing..) |
Any more info on this motor? I'm looking to buy one or just stay with Novarossi.
How would this motor compare to a P5XS? |
Anybody???
|
Great motor I have maybe a gallon on it, very smooth. Running in a truggy and it scoots along pretty nicely. I like it because it's pretty easy to tune and is consistent throughout the day

Just wanted to post up how my JX21 has been going after having run it in and done a couple meetings with it. In a word I am very happy, the engine is awesome in just about every way. The engine has an abundance of bottom end, with smooth mid range to top end transition but when it starts singing boy does it start singing, at the end of each straight you think the engine is just about to let go - It just rev's THAT much. In terms of tuning and reliability its as you'd expect with any OS built mill, impecable and nothing short of the best predictability of tune you'll get with any engine. My runtime has also been pretty good, in a truggy with a JP3 which is a notoriously thirsty pipe I was getting 11 minutes, which is pretty good considering its still had less than half a gallon of fuel and not fully leaned off. I also ran the motor in my 808 and again it was stonking, with the JP3 again I was getting about 9 minutes which is superb considering.
Just thought I'd post up as I hadn't really ready much about personal opinions on the motor, but its a great motor and something that everyone should consider. |
Well I've been hearing some good things about this engine so I bought one and the only reason was beacause it has good fuel consumption.
Who can recomend a good pipe for this motor? |
I've not really tryed much in the way of pipes myself yet, just the JP3 really which is on my JX21 in my truggy, gets 11 minutes of runtime with supreme power all round... Now just need to get another for my 808 :D
|
any news on the dyno pulls for this mill with the different pipes? I have a 53, 86, 1005, and JP2 sitting here...thinking the 53 will be the place to start with the JX?
|
my friend runs a OS 2060 pipe, P3 plugs
and seems to be happy with it.. |
I just received the motor and it looks great but I noticed that the extra rod was not included but I'm not sure if thats the extra part they were including after break in, what I did receive was c-clips....could someone clarify?
Thanks, |
C clips? I didnt get any c clips with mine, the part for break in would probably be the extra shim.
|
It comes with extra c clips if you want to replace them after break-in. There should also be an extra .1mm shim you can use to help breakin.
|
if you treated a vspec and a jx21 exactly the same in the same conditions would the jx retain its pinch any longer or roughly the same as the vspec ?

Hey guys... I decided this is my next motor. I have been looking around for descent pricing, and found a SALE on this motor here for $294.99...:weird: :
At that price... I'll take two. Anyways I'm not sure how long that sale runs, but I thought I'd post it since it fits the subject. http://www.airlandhobbies.com/catalo...2272868718.htm How do you guys think this motor will compare to my OS Speeds? I'm planning on running the OS 2060 pipe. |
im running the jx21 and pipe (which is a 2060 os pipe) in my 5r and its the best ive tried so far. the last two seasons i ran the jp mod v spec's and the jx is just as smooth with more top end and alot cheaper. if you cant win with this motor, its not the motor thats holding you back..lol buy the jx and use the $200 you saved for tires. tires are what win races, Cole. lol
